Valkyria: Azure Revolution for PlayStation 4 is undergoing significant redesigns based on feedback from its first demo, director Takeshi Ozawa has said.

Speaking in an interview with Japanese gaming publication Famitsu, as translated by DualShockers, Azure Revolution's battle system has been changed in order to make it feel like more of an RPG.

In the demo, battle was more action focused and, for fans, this didn't accurately capture the strategic nature of its turn-based predecessors. To remedy this, a new "action gauge" has been introduced to govern when characters can act. Another system that pauses time while actions are being selected has also been added.

Players will now also be able to impact the personality of their characters, thus altering their behaviour. Additionally, players will be able to issue direct commands to characters, instead of allowing their AI to dictate actions.

Further details about the changes will be posted on the game's website in the future.

Valkyria: Azure Revolution is in development at Media Vision, the team behind Valkyria Chronicles 3 for PSP. As of yet, a North America and Europe release for Valkyria: Azure Revolution has not been announced. It is expected to launch in Japan this year.

A remastered version of PS3 title Valkyria Chronicles was recently released. It made a top 10 debut in the UK sales chart.
