Infogrames has revealed further details on its PlayStation game Power Spike Pro Beach Volleyball. The game, being developed by French firm Carapace, will feature more than 50 licensed male and female volleyball players representing 16 countries. Players can even create their own volleyball star using the comprehensive player editor. In traditional beach-volleyball style, up to four players - teams of two - can compete at once.

The game includes three modes of play. In the practice mode players can work on their volleyball skills in a special practice court. The exhibition mode lets players compete using any licensed or custom player on any of the game's courts. The championship mode simulates an FIVB [Federation of International Volleyball] tournament with 16 players competing in eight double-elimination-style tournaments.

Power Spike Pro Beach Volleyball for the Sony PlayStation and Nintendo Game Boy Color will ship this fall.
