Fans of action role-playing games looking to take some adventures on the road need only wait one more week for Sony Online Entertainment's Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade. The company today announced that the game has gone gold and will ship alongside the highly anticipated PlayStation Portable on March 24.

"Untold Legends is a brand new intellectual property built from the ground up specifically for the PSP handheld system, and will be the only action role-playing game available at the new system's launch," said Torrie Dorrell, senior vice president, Sony Online Entertainment.

Untold Legends is an action-based RPG similar to SOE's Champions of Norrath. Adventurers quest around a fantasy world, acquiring treasure and equipment, killing monsters with weapons and magical spells, and pumping up their characters with experience points. The game will be in full 3D and feature randomly generated environments to keep things fresh.

The game boasts more than 100 levels to explore, 150 beasts to slay, and hundreds and thousands of items to grab. The action isn't limited to solo adventurers--a cooperative mode supports four simultaneous players over the PSP's integrated wireless capabilities.

Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade is rated "T" for Teen and has an SRP of $39.99. For more information on the title, head thyself to GameSpot's digital tomes covering the game.
