Unsolved Crimes committed on DS

A new crime-solving mystery game for the handheld will be coming to all regions (except Asia) in the second half of 2008.

Crime shows such as CSI, Cold Case Files, and Law and Order are all over the TV at the moment. Crime-solving games are also proving to be a popular genre on the Nintendo DS with an increasing number of titles available, such as the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series, Hotel Dusk: Room 215, and CSI: Dark Motives.

Now mystery lovers will have more crimes to sink their teeth into. Unsolved Crimes, a new title, will be coming to the DS in the second half of this year. Gamers will take on the role of a rookie detective working in homicide initially investigating the kidnapping of a beautiful wannabe model called Betsy Blake.

Set in 1970s New York, the game will also feature another eight independent cases to be solved, along with five minigames to be won for more information on the cases.

Gamers will search for clues at 3D crime scenes, ask questions, and solve puzzles. Using the DS stylus, they will be able to trace marks, routes, and memos on the screen. Unsolved Crimes has been developed by Japanese company Now Production and will be published by Silverstar Holdings.

in the first case (not the tutorial) near the end, i think its the 3rd last query, where you have to go through the shopping bag for evidence. how do i choose an answer? when i choose an apple or whatever it says is this evidence (or something along those lines) how do i say yes?

Whilst I used to love the old PC point & clicks, after playing through once I rarely had an incentive to play again, so I may consider picking this up after a price drop, though I'm still waiting for Hotel Dusk to drop to £20 or less. Wonder if we'll ever see a Tex Murphy adventure on the DS? (though can it handle all the VO & FMV the game would need?)

It's nice to see, more games using the touch screen. Anyway, this sounds like a good game. I'll have to play it, once it comes out.

Every couple of months a game comes along that makes me glad I own a DS. The use of the touch screen seems to be getting more and more creative.

Interactive mystery novels? Fascinating! I might need that DS after all.
