Unreal Tournament 2003 takes second place

Infogrames' new first-person shooter enters the PC sales chart right behind The Sims: Unleashed.

Comments

Unreal Tournament 2003 had a great first week but enters the latest NPD PC sales chart in second place behind The Sims: Unleashed, which is currently enjoying its second week at the top. Elsewhere on the chart there's very little in the way of movement other than every game slipping down a place, bumping Grand Theft Auto III off the bottom to make room for Unreal Tournament 2003. Madden NFL 2003 was the only exception to the rule, slipping out of the top 10 this week and, in the process, leaving a slot vacant for Activision's Medieval: Total War to reenter at number eight.

Best-selling PC games for the week of September 29-October 5, 2002:

Rank / Title / Publisher / Average Price
1 / The Sims: Unleashed / Electronic Arts / $29
2 / Unreal Tournament 2003 / Infogrames / $47
3 / Battlefield 1942 / Electronic Arts / $44
4 / The Sims Deluxe / Electronic Arts / $42
5 / Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos / Vivendi Universal / $50
6 / The Sims: Vacation / Electronic Arts / $28
7 / Medal of Honor: Allied Assault / Electronic Arts / $46
8 / Medieval: Total War / Activision / $33
9 / The Sims: Hot Date / Electronic Arts / $29
10 / The Sims / Electronic Arts / $42
