Uncharted Mo-Cap Director Passes Away, Heartfelt Messages Pour in to Remember Him

Gordon Hunt, a director who worked on the Uncharted franchise and the father of actress Helen Hunt, has passed away. He was 87.

Helen Hunt told The Hollywood Reporter that her father passed away at his home in Sherman Oaks, California on Saturday night after suffering from Parkinson's disease.

The actors who played Nathan Drake and Elena in the Uncharted series spoke out on Twitter to remember Hunt and talk about his life and career. Elena actress Emily Rose said, "Deeply grieved that my friend & mentor Gordon Hunt has left us. Everything I have of this career I owe to him." Drake actor Nolan North said, "Heartbroken. Love him so much."

Amy Hennig, who worked on the Uncharted franchise from its beginning, added her own response to Hunt's passing. "It's impossible to overstate the impact Gordon had on so many lives. I am endlessly grateful for his friendship and guidance," she said.

Hunt worked for famous animation company Hanna-Barbera, heading up its voice department where he worked on shows like The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, The Jetsons, and others. He went on to direct episodes of live-action shows such as Coach and Frasier, while he also worked on stage plays including My Fair Lady and Camelot.

He was also an acting teacher for more than 40 years. His students included his daughter, as well as Jimmy Fallon and Jonathan Banks of Breaking Bad fame.
