Naughty Dog's long-awaited PlayStation 4 action-adventure game Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was delayed yet again last night. PlayStation president Shawn Layden said the delay was due in part to Sony needing more time to manufacture game discs to meet the game's "considerable worldwide demand." Now, game director Neil Druckmann has offered his own take on the game's latest delay.

Writing on Twitter, Druckmann thanked fans for their patience and said the two-week delay will help the game have a "smooth worldwide launch."

It's been a long time coming for Uncharted 4. The PS4-exclusive was first scheduled to launch in 2015, but was later moved to March 2016 and then again to April 2016 before its latest delay to May 2016.

You won't have to wait until May to play, however, as an open beta for the game's multiplayer mode will be available March 4-6. This is being described as a stress-test and a PlayStation Plus membership is not required.
