Using CoverIf you're new to Uncharted 2, you'll quickly find your typical run 'n' gun tactics have no place here…unless you like being turned into hamburger meat. However, if you're an Uncharted veteran, then the same skills apply here.
Take CoverUnlike most shooters, your enemies are quite the expert marksmen and will use every opportunity they have to fill you full of holes. In order to hold your own against these guys, taking cover during every battle is a must! Thankfully, Uncharted makes taking cover easy—it's using it effectively that's the challenge. First and foremost, running to a place of cover leaves you vulnerable, so it's often best to find the nearest cover point and attack from there. For example, taking cover on either side of the doorway leading into most rooms is often an excellent cover point, as are the copious low walls scattered around each level. While you may be a short ways from the battle, it will almost ensure that you're safe from harm's way. Now, taking cover by itself isn't enough to win you the battle—no, you'll have to learn how to use it effectively. In short, if you're not shooting, you shouldn't be standing—keep your head out of the line of fire unless you need to take a shot. And even then, fire in short, controlled bursts then immediately duck back out of sight. In addition, you can also fire blindly simply by holding the fire button without readying your aim--it's not very accurate, but it doesn't leave you vulnerable either. Oh, and you can even shoot while hanging from signs, ledges, or anything else really. These locations--as long as they cover your whole body--make excellent cover-points, and we recommend using them whenever you get the chance.
GrenadesGrenades are an important took at your disposal, capable of taking out large groups of enemies in one fell swoop. As such, they're best used when enemies have bunched together, generally while behind cover. To lob a grenade, simply tap the respective button once. However, you'll generally want to aim it precisely. To do so, simply hold down the 'grenade' button instead, then use the right stick to reposition the aiming car that appears, allowing you to toss a grenade to that precise location.
Chapter 1: Rock and a Hard Place
What? The game has only just begun and Drake's already in death's way! Alright, so this section of the game functions as more of a tutorial for platforming than anything else, but if you need some assistance, read-on.
From the get-go, follow the yellow railing around to the left and climb up the backside of the train car. Climb up the right-most side and tap jump when instructed to hop up to a yellow pole. Follow it up, then left to a second pole you can ascend. As you venture upward, the pole will break loose and swing around to the train's side. Now hold forward on the control stick to begin swinging, then tap jump to leap to the train, grabbing hold of a ledge.
After leaping to the train, move left and climb through the window. Leap to the seat within, then to another on the left. While hanging, leap up a few seats, then to another along the other wall. It'll fall apart, causing Drake to hang on for dear life, just outside. Sidle right to another yellow pole that you can climb. It too will bend under your weight as you near the top--quickly leap to the door that opens on the left, forming a ledge. Now clamber to the top of the train, then to the train car above. Now get your butt in gear and hightail it out the rear side before the train falls off completely!
Drake, pull yourself together man, it's only the first chapter! Once he's back on his feet, push forward along the snowy path, past the falling tree, through a thin crevice. Collect the pistol from the poor sod's carcass ahead, before opening the adjacent train car door and proceeding inside.
Proceed through the train car and grab some ammo on the left, just after hopping the short gate. When you reach the locked door on the left, shoot the lock hanging from the chain, enabling you to slide the door open and exit back outside. As you approach the crate ahead, an enemy will storm around the corner. Don't bother with him, as an explosion behind him will take care of him for you. Grab his ammo then continue through the wreckage ahead to a closed door you can bust through.
Up ahead is a wall of wreckage. Start climbing up the left side, jumping when necessary. It's easiest if you leap from the top into the open train car, though you can also drop down and climb a nearby platform first. Push forward through the train car to the closed door. Jump to grab hold of the door frame and climb up to through the hole to the rooftop. Unfortunately, this starts a sequence of unfortunate events, concluding with Drake being knocked out.
Following the flashback, press any button to have Nate regain his composure. Now walk toward the camera to find a large hole in the train car. Make a flying leap toward the yellow handrail on the far train car and follow it down to a ledge that you can pull yourself onto.
A short ways into the train car, a floor panel will fall loose, causing Nate to face plant outside. Just continue forward to complete the chapter.
Chapter 2: Breaking and Entering
Drake's sewer spelunking? The man's dedicated. At any rate, climb out of the sewage onto the nearby walkway and follow your partner up the wall and through the doorway. Now watch your friend as he clambers across the wall using the embedded pipes, as you're about to do the same.
Leap to the platform in the right corner ahead, then to the yellow pipe. Follow each segment as far left as you can, before tapping "O" to drop to the next, lower pipe. Once at the far end, climb the pipe as high as you can, then leap to the nearby ledge by tilting the control stick toward it and tapping jump. After pulling yourself up, follow your partner into the next room, which is a seeming dead-end. Thankfully, Drake will take notice of an entrance ahead--wait for your partner to get into position, then tap the button should on-screen when close to have him fling you up to it. Now clamber up the brick wall and leap to the ladder, before climbing it to a manhole you can open, leading inside.
Inside the museum, grab the treasure listed above before clambering over the green pipe ahead and tossing your partner up to the ladder. He'll lower it, allowing you to follow suit. Clamber up a couple of ledges at the top and follow the walkway to your partner, where you'll discover a steaming pipe.
To disable the leaky pipe, climb the ladder just behind you and turn the valve there. Now cross over the pipe and leap to a yellow pipe just ahead--swing from it to the far platform, then leap to the central catwalk where your partner awaits. After pulling yourself up, drop and hang from the other side and sidle left, before dropping to a walkway below.
As you approach your partner, tap "O" when instructed to take cover beside the window, narrowly avoiding being spotted. Phew! Continue into the hall, leading to a room with a locked door.
After attempting to open the door, Nate will notice there's a security system that must first be disarmed. You can follow a cable running from it, along the wall, to the junction box--look for it by a large green pipe, near the entrance of the room (from the hall you just came from). After disabling it, proceed through the door.
Uh oh! A guard's just ahead. After Drake takes cover, you'll be given an opportunity to perform your first stealth kill--hopefully the first of many. Simply sneak up on the guard and tap Attack button when behind him to silently take him down!
With the first guard down, turn left and follow your friend's lead by hopping off the balcony. Now do you see the plantation in the center? Take cover along its thin side, as a guard lurks just around the corner. Follow the wall up, to where the guard comes to a stop, just around the corner. Edge as close as you can to perform another stealth kill. With the coast cleared, follow your partner to a closed gate ahead.
Clamber up the closed gate to a wooden panel above and sidle left along it and leap to the walkway. Oh look, two more guards ahead! You can't stealth kill them, but you can melee attack them to death. Simply approach either one and hammer the Attack button; your partner will take care of the second fellow.
Oh great, this next room is filled to the brim with baddies--time to put those stealth skills to work! Hop off the balcony to a walkway below. Follow your partner's advice and head left. Sneak up on the first guard looking over the railing for a stealth kill. Now continue up the staircase and drop off the top, where you'll find another guard you can easily take down. After your partner finished up with a guard ahead, regroup at the gate on the left.
Great, another security system's protecting the gate. Climb up it and grab hold of the yellow ridges to the right, and follow them up to another junction box you can interact with to disable the security (don't worry about the guard on the nearby balcony). Once disabled, drop down and proceed through the gate.
Beyond the gate is another guard-filled room, and you'll have to clear most of them out in order to proceed. Begin by jumping over the railing on the right (where your partner is) and carefully approach the guard resting against the column for a stealth kill. Now sneak up on a second just by the fountain ahead. From there, circle the fountain around the back to the other side where you'll spot a couple of guards in a lit, raised area. Grab hold of the balcony by the closest guard and quickly take him down by tapping 'attack' while hanging for another stealth kill. Now quickly jump over and take cover by the right column, as two guards are about to enter through the right door. As soon as the closest one turns around, stealth kill him while your partner takes down the second.
Leap off the top of that area to wind up just behind a guard you can easily take down. Now there are only two more left, both in the far corner. Simply sneak up behind the closest one first, then the second, for a stealth kill each.
With the room cleared, you'll find an open window high up on the wall opposite of where you entered that you'll have to climb through. To reach it, climb the stairs where the two guards came through the door, and leap from the right-most edge of the balcony to an awning. Follow that to a gated window you can climb, then to a pair of ledges you can sidle along to the window you can drop to, then inside.
Once through the window, your partner will equip you with a tranquilizer gun for the remaining guards. Stay hidden behind the wall and target the first guard, on the left. Your partner will take out the second nearby. Now turn your attention to the ones on the walkway above. Climb up and move up a couple of boxes, then take aim at the one on the left--again, your partner will take out the other.
With the room cleared, join your partner behind the cart and push it to the far wall, where you can use it as a stepping stone to reach the ledge above. Now wait for your partner to toss a grappling hook and climb up it (by jumping toward the rope) to a series of bricks you can cross to the right. As you begin your brick-trek, a guard will enter through a door below--take aim and tranq him! Continue along to the far edge and leap to the nearby wooden platform.
After pulling yourself up, you'll spot a staircase along the far wall. To get there, simply jump across a pair of wooden beams!
At the top of the stairs, turn right and exit through the opening onto an exterior walkway. Follow it around to a gap in the railing you can leap over. While hanging from it, leap to an awning directly across, then pull yourself up and sidle along to another balcony you can leap to. After just barely making it, follow your partner over another nearby railing, then off the other side.
Wait here while your partner tosses another grappling hook, before leaping to the rope. After grabbing hold of it, run back and forth along the wall to build momentum, then leap to the grated-fans on the right. Climb them to the top-right corner and use the yellow ledge to grab hold of the roof's edge above. As you do, a guard will step nearby--pull him off with a quick tap of the 'Attack' button.
Pull yourself up and follow the roof to a utility box you can climb onto for a wonderful view of the city. Jump to a ladder on the left and climb it to some support beams underneath a walkway that you can monkey-bar across. When you spot a guard below, tranq him before leaping to that same ledge. Follow the walkway to another handrail-less section ahead you can leap over to an awning below. Now follow your partner across a few gaps to a balcony with a guard. He's by himself, so take him out however you see fit. With the guard down, approach the tower ahead to and descend the rope your friend sets up.
Well, looks like your "friend" wasn't such a great buddy after all! Well, no matter, you have bigger issues to worry now, such as the myriad of guards gunning for you! Luckily, they take forever to aim, so as long as you stay on the move, they won't be able to target you! However, if they do notice a targeting laser steadying in on you, simply roll to throw it off.
At any rate, simply dart down the exposed hallway up to a gate that slams shut--very right into an adjacent entranceway and continue down the stairs to a window you can jump through (again, ignore the guards along the way). Back outside, run for the open manhole just ahead and jump inside.
Back in the sewer, jump down the ledge ahead and make a left in the next room. Continue through an entranceway in the far-right corner, leading into a room with a ladder you can use to escape! Well, sort of…
Chapter 3: Borneo
Looks like Drake's on explosive-arming detail. Along the way though, you'll encounter quite a few enemies. Ideally, you'll use stealth to take them down, which is what this this section of the walkthrough is geared toward. However, if the enemies do notice your presence, use the logs for cover as you take them down. At any rate, proceed through the swamp up to the first explosive--Nate will automatically arm it when close. Now push forward to a rocky wall that you can clamber up and follow the trail to a ledge you can drop off.
You'll encounter two soldiers just ahead. Though the path splits before them, we suggest sticking to the one Sully takes, on the left, and waiting by him inside the swampy alcove. Remain here until you notice an enemy ahead sit down on the log--sneak up behind him, take cover by the log, them perform a stealth takedown (be sure to grab his dropped gun too). Now follow the tree directly to your right around to sneak up on a second enemy.
With both soldiers down, continue up to another log ahead, where you'll spot two more enemies. Wait for them to turn around, then hurry up to the next log. Remain here until the enemy on the left turns around, then sneak up behind him for another silent kill. Wait by the closest log for the second enemy to provide an opening, then go for him too! Now two more remain on the upper walkway--it's too difficult to try and sneak up on them, so take cover behind a log and pick 'em off with your pistol.
With the coast clear, climb up a couple of wooden platforms on the left, then swing over to the walkway via the wooden pole. Walk across the log to a large boulder you can push, providing Sully with a way up. Now drop down and follow the path across a second log.
As you cross the second log, two enemies will appear--shoot them. Just beyond are two more; kill them before dropping off the ledge and then climbing the tall wall ahead. This path leads to the first camp, where four more explosives await.
Sneak up behind the first guard, who's looking at the table, and take him down quietly. Now take cover by the left side of the table and wait for a second guard to approach after a few moments for another stealth kill. Continue to use the table for cover, but it's time to use guns. Use your pistol to pick off the enemy on the right ledge, followed by the one in the shack ahead.
Although things may seem quiet now, they won't be for long. After stepping a few feet deeper in the swamp, more enemies will appear--we suggest taking cover just in front of that first shack, either by the ramp, or the box just above, allowing you to target the enemies beyond. Keep an eye out for a couple of scattered bright-red generators--shooting these causes a massive explosion, taking out any nearby baddies. Once things calm down, move up to the next piece of cover, such as a low barrier on the left, as more enemies are inbound. Repeat once more, up to the lowest point of the raised section ahead, and use the low wall for cover as you destroy the final few enemies.
With the area clear, it's time to arm the four explosives--all can be found at water-level. Look for the first on the left side of the first shack, facing the path you entered the area from. The second can be found in the opposite corner of that same shack. The third is located on the side of the second shack, just across from the first. Finally, look for the fourth on the front side (slightly to the left) of the wooden platform ahead, just below where all the enemies spawned from.
With all of the explosives armed, look for a ladder on the far-right side of the platform all the enemies were attacking from. It's too high to reach, so toss Sully up and wait for him to drop it for you. After climbing the ladder, you'll find a small camp--there's nothing of importance here, so continue along a path to the right.
Just as Nate discovers a couple of unharmed guards below, he'll be tossed into the pit too. Here's your chance to become more acquainted with your combat abilities. To fight, simply tap the 'attack' button repeatedly. Now if the enemy manages to gain the upper hand and grab you, the game will enter slow-motion, giving you a short chance to counter by tapping 'Triangle.' Use these tactics to defeat the four enemies in the pit before climbing the rope Sully tosses you.
After rejoining Sully, follow the path with the blue pipe ahead, leading to the next chapter.
Chapter 4: The Dig
Continue along the path, through the forest, to the second camp, where you'll watch a cutscene. As soon as it ends, wait a few moments for an enemy to approach, allowing you to perform a a stealth kill. Quickly grab his weapon (as you don't currently have one) and follow the dock up to the box an enemy is resting against ahead--take cover and perform another silent takedown. Now follow the dock left up to another box--take cover and use this position to pick off the final two enemies with your weapons.
With the area cleared, enter the shack to trigger a cutscene. Of course, with Drake's luck, he'll come under fire as soon as he's found what he's looking for. Drake automatically will seek cover inside the shack, handily right next to a box of grenades! The game will then walk you through how to use them, resulting in the first two enemies being killed easily. Now when the game instructs you about the "lob," aim for two more just to the right. Now a whole mess-ton of enemies are going to storm in.
After the grenade tutorial, we suggest taking cover on the right side of the doorway (just left of where you started) and using this position to open fire on the inbound enemies. Keep in mind that the red generator in the center can be detonated with a few shots, taking down several enemies at once. In addition, keep your grenades at the ready for groups of inbound enemies. Also, be alert of enemies that you may attacked from both the far left and far right--it doesn't happen too often, but it's best to take them down ASAP.
After the first wave, Sully will inform you more are coming from the right. There's a short lull here, so use this time to grab the dropped ammo from the fallen enemies before returning to your place of cover. This time, look out the window on the right to target the inbound foes, but be aware that more will be coming from the left as well.
Before long, a gunner will take residence in the tower to the left. Ignore him until you've completely cleared the field of remaining enemies. Once you have, wait for him to pause between reloads, then push forward to the box just below the tower for cover. Now lob-throw a grenade inside the tower (line up the cursor so it actually goes through the window) to destroy it in one fell swoop.
With the tower destroyed, climb onto the platform where it once was and cross over the wooden platform to rejoin Sully. Now follow the path and climb up a few ledges until you stumble across a temple, at which point Chloe will join your group. Enter the temple and drop through the hole inside.
After dropping into the temple, head to the opposite corner of the room to find a smaller room. Inside you'll find a jewel resting on the busted barrel, which Nate uses to obtain fire. The fire's glow reveals a trail of blood; although you can follow it around the room, it's simply easier to head right for where it leads. That is, as you exit the small room where you found it, head dead-ahead into a second room--there the blood leads to a dead-end. Interact with the wall there to pull it apart, revealing a passage you can proceed through. Just keep walking dead-ahead to the glowing section on the wall, where a cutscene will take place.
Following the cutscene, follow Chloe out the way you came, make a right, and follow her up the column she climbs to escape this place…and into the hands of your enemy. Thankfully, Nate and Sully will escape--quickly run down the path, avoiding the enemies if you can. Though if one does engage you, finish the fight quickly. After your attempt to cross a long span, Nate will fall and grab hold of a rock--follow it left to a ledge you can climb up, where you'll complete the level.
Chapter 5: Urban Warfare
Oh crap, you'd better run fast to get away from the truck! Just keep moving toward the camera, all the while firing upon the truck's engine block. It'll blow up before long.
After the exciting get away, continue into the streets to watch a cutscene, involving a speeding bus! After it crashes, you'll regain control of Drake. Step out into the street and take cover behind a nearby low wall, to the left. Wait for things to cool down, then target the remaining enemies.
With the streets clear, you'll quickly discover that you're unable to pass the crashed bus. Instead, look for a traffic light pole you can climb, near the destroyed VW Bug, on the left side of the street (assuming you're facing the bus). Clamber up the signs, vaulting over the top one to a series of yellow pegs you can climb to a power line. Climb that too, then leap from its right side to a blue pole on the nearby building. Now follow the bricks just right of the pole around the corner, then leap across a couple more signs to an open window you can climb inside.
Once inside, head right and leap to the light pole, swinging from it to the adjacent building. After the floor falls out, drop down and climb up to the bookshelf in the corner via the blue box. While hanging from it, leap to the next floor, just behind Drake. Climb the staircase then another set of bookshelves to the roof, where a helicopter will swoop by.
After the helicopter passes, you'll notice an enemy stationed just across from you--take him out with a head shot. Now leap to where he was and clamber to the ground below, either via the blue pipe, or leaping to the nearby signs.
Once on ground level, head up the street and make a left down a side-street. There you'll spot a guard facing away, inside a large hole in the wall. Sneak up behind him for a stealth takedown, then quickly head left inside to stealth kill another.
Inside, immediately seek cover behind the counter and start picking off the enemies out in the field (there should be some ammo to your right as well). You should be able to take down most of the enemies from this location, though you will want to move up to the fallen pillar on the left to target the remaining enemies on the far left (there's also a gun nearby, if you need ammo). Also, be cautious of a shield equipped enemy who'll attack as well. Try to clear the other enemies before taking him on--if you have a grenade, we suggest using it on him. Otherwise, aim for any visible segments of his body (such as his legs, or shooting hand) and follow-up with some finishing shots when he cowers from the blast.
Once you've cleared the street, stock up on ammo before attempting to head further, as a truck equipped with a machine gun's about to roll in. Once it has, take cover behind whatever's close by, such as the low wall or washing machine, etc. Pick off a few enemies, holding them just long enough until Chloe saves you with a rocket launcher!
After Chloe saves your hide, follow her inside the laundromat on the right to find a locked door. To get around it, head back into the street and climb a street sign, just left of the laundromat (assuming you're facing away from the entrance). Now swing from the right-most street lamp to the nearby awning.
From the awning, jump to the air conditions in the nearby wall, and sidle along it to the right, around the corner, to the upper floor of the laundromat. Carefully cross over the remaining floor section to the other side, where you'll find some wooden beams you can use to swing over to the wall, with some exposed bricks. After latching on, head left and jump for the platform. Clamber over the chester drawers and across the beam, extending to a neighboring building. Now jump to the balcony and then to the street sign, which you can use to safely drop to ground level.
However, we suggest that you continue to hold onto the street sign here for cover as some enemies are about to storm in below. Use your pistol to pick 'em off while hanging behind the sign for cover (if you do drop down, use the box for cover). Watch out for an impending shield guy--remember to aim for exposed limbs, such as the legs, or the arm he shoots with. Move up when you can to a wooden barricade on the right to target a pair of remaining enemies on a deck above.
With the street cleared, shoot the lock off the red door and open it to regroup with Chloe. Trail her up the street to a ladder you can fling her too, which she'll subsequently lower. Climb up and continue up the fire escape, and enter the building.
Inside, you'll find a barred entryway--shoot the wooden planks then continue onward to a section on the left blocked by debris--interact with it to clear it out of the way. Continue onward to chapter 6!
Chapter 6: Desperate Times
Proceed through the house back outside, continue down the stairs, then drop off the rail-less section of the balcony. After the cutscene, you'll wind up engaged in a huge fire fight. For now, we suggest to remain behind the statue for cover, peeking around it to take down the enemies beyond. Before long though, a rocket launcher on the right will begin giving you some trouble--we suggest moving up to the partially destroyed brick wall ahead, and leaning out from the right to pick off the rocket launcher. Now remain here to pick off the remaining baddies. If you run low on ammo, try checking for more behind any of the sandbag walls, which also serve as great cover-points.
Once you've cleared the area, a truck will roll in on down the street on the right with reinforcements. If you're quick, try climbing up the right side of the central structure, providing a fantastic vantage point for picking them off (including the machine gunner) as they exit the truck--a grenade can work wonders. If not, seek cover behind any of the barriers just up the street from them, picking them off one at a time. Now you likely won't be able to take down the machine gunner from a distance, so follow the ridge of the central structure to provide a top-down view, allowing you target the gunner's exposed noggin. Once he's down, even more enemies will storm in from the other side, where you originally entered from. Seek cover behind one of the nearby walls facing out and take them down--there aren't too many left.
With the coast finally cleared, meet up with Chloe down a side-street, just off the main street the truck parked at. Toss her to a fire escape ladder above and follow her up after she drops it to you. Once at the top of the fire escape, leap to the nearby signpost, then from there to an awning. Now clamber inside the open window.
After stepping no more than a few feet inside, two enemies will emerge from the elevator. Quickly seek cover behind the right pillar and open fire. Now one of them is equipped with body armor, so go for his head--once you blow off his helmet, a single head shot will take him down. Once cleared, step aboard the lift.
After Nate frees himself from the elevator, he'll have to locate the circuit breaker. Head down the hall to a mostly-destroyed room. Leap from the concrete beam extending outward to a series of flag poles you start swinging from. Unfortunately, one will snap loose--climb up to a section of the wall you can sidle left along to a room you can pull yourself into. Grab the ammo here, if you need it, then shoot your way through the barricaded entrance.
In the next room, step out onto the large concrete slab and grab hold of the beams overhead and swing your way to the far window. Continue to hang out here as you target the four enemies within. Now clamber inside and work your way to a staircase.
Climb the staircase to the first hallway, and take cover at the corner inside to take down two enemies. Now climb up the left ledge and continue through a sky bridge--as you near the next building, two enemies will drop in from the right. Take aim at the canister on the floor if you can for a quick victory, otherwise take them down conventionally.
When you reach the kitchen, follow a girder extending outside and leap to a hanging pole, which you can use to reach the floor above. Jump the gap to the other side of the room, take down an attacking enemy, then drop through the hole in an adjacent room to find the circuit breaker. Once switched, climb back up via the ladder to reunite with Chloe.
With Chloe at your side, toss her up to a ladder in the same room as the circuit breaker, then follow her up after she kicks down the ladder. Now that you're on the roof, take a moment for a quick swim to hear some amusing dialog. All refreshed? Good--look for a busted section of the balcony you can hop over, putting you at eye level with the hotel's sign. Now look for a portion of the wall you can clamber up just right of that sign to the very tip-top of the hotel. Once there, follow Chloe down the zip line to another building.
What's that? A long span that can't be crossed? Yeah right--no gap's too big for Drake! Clamber up the wooden panels on the left to a long one that you can sidle along…although you won't make it far before a helicopter comes and rains on your parade! Hurry up and jump along the platforms until you reach one that collapses underneath your weight. Climb back up it, but remain here, as it provides a great vantage point in which to tackle some enemies storming the rooftop ahead. Once clear, hop over to it and continue right, ready to tackle a few more. Jump the gap to the next building and drop inside through the hole.
As you head down the hall, you'll be blown back by a missile--brush it off and continue up the table, which you can flip over for cover. Remain here as you target the enemies ahead, before proceeding onward, as well as one around the corner. Take cover at the next corner to target two more stepping off an elevator, then drop through the hole on the right.
After dropping down, take down the few enemies here. Shortly thereafter, the helicopter will destroy the building, sending in on a collision course with another. Fight off a couple of remaining baddies as the building crumbles, but get ready to jump when Drake starts slipping toward the edge.
Phew, you made it! We were worried about you! Anyway, continue up the staircase into a room at the top. Once there, leap to the adjacent rooftop and immediatly seek cover behind the brick wall on the left, and target the enemies on the roof ahead (aim for the rocker launcher first!). When clear, lower the raised bridge via the crank on the right and cross over.
After crossing the bridge, take cover by the left railing to target the enemies on a rooftop below. Once clear, hop down there through a gap just a bit further ahead.
Oh no, the chopper's back! Grab the nearby grenade launcher and stock up on nearby ammo. Now quickly seek cover--any cover, as long as it's between you and the chopper and open fire! If you run out of ammo for the launcher, explore the nearby rooftop for more--just try and make each shot count. The helicopter will often pause, providing a great opportunity to attack. Now beware of a couple of enemies that may attach from a rooftop, opposite of where you leapt from--take 'em down asap.
After destroying the chopper, look for a bridge you can lower on the right side of the building and use it to cross over to a nearby building. Once there, drop to the lower level and leap to the signboard ahead. From it, leap to the rooftop behind it, then to another on the right--take the zip line there…even if it does break halfway.
After Nate recovers from his tumble, look for a blue pipe you can climb near the flames. At the top, sidle along a couple more to the left and leap to the nearby sign post--descend it to ground level. Just ahead is another cutscene and the next chapter!
Chapter 7: They're Coming With Us
Hurry up and take cover behind one of the low-walls ahead, bordering the fountain, as enemies are inbound! Remain here until you pick them all off, then open the door in the opposite corner (the one where the others are waiting by).
Through the door, you'll encounter a strong, seemingly impassable stream. But look closer--see that car surrounded by a pile of junk midstream? Shoot the explosive barrel right next to it to cause the car to float up against the far wall, acting as one of two platforms you'll need to cross it. Now climb the stairs behind you up to a high ladder that you can't reach alone. Toss Chloe up--she'll return the favor by dropping a box you can use to reach the ladder.
After climbing the ladder, grab one of the many explosive cannisters, then toss it down toward a second car in the river below--shoot it just before it lands (simply by tapping 'fire' after throwing it) to detonate the garbage, causing the car to float downstream forming a second platform (don't worry about screwing up, the cannisters continually respawn).
With the cars in place, follow your teammates lead, using the cars as stepping stones to cross the river and climb a far ladder.
Follow the walkway and proceed up the stairs--immediately seek cover at the top, either behind the nearby box or low wall ahead, and take down the attacking enemies (ignore the central gunner for now). Once you've everyone except the gunner, climb up the wall on the left (via a blue ledge) to a walkway just left of the gunner. Use the green wall for cover--as soon as the gunner pauses to reload, grab one of the explosive cannisters resting by the wall just behind you and toss it his way--detonating it mid-air--to take him down. If you're having trouble, just run up to him and cap him from behind. Now immediately take control of that machine gun and use it to take down more enemies attacking from the stairs below, where you just came from.
After clearing the area, climb a blue pipe just right of the machine gun and climb through the window at the top. Once through, sidle along a thin ledge (adjacent to a signboard) into a building across the way.
Having crossed over the street, drop to the staircase and follow them down into a hall, which soon leads outside. Now head straight for the temple ahead to complete the chapter.
Chapter 8: The City's Secret
Inside the temple, head into the next room ahead, containing a large statue. There Drake will notice that he's seen something like this before--tap "select" to consult his journal, which sure enough, contains some information about what to do…but who needs a journal when you've got us, right?
So here's the deal: the statue has six arms in total, but only the upper-four are movable. You'll have to maneuver each into the same position as shown in the picture inside Drake's journal. However, the mid-right arm is already in the correct position (so don't touch it!), leaving just three left.
Begin your trek via a partially broken column on the right side of the room. Leap from the top of it to a pole along the wall. From here, you can sidle along either direction to each of the arms. Let's head left for now, which leads to the right arm. Sidle left along the ledge to a broken section of walkway, then leap to another right by the statue. Now ignore the arm to the left--remember, it's already in position. Instead, climb up some bricks on the right up to some ledges you can grip above--follow them left, then drop to the platform adjacent to the top-right hand. Interact with it to knock it into position.
Reclimb the same pole you used a few moments ago, except head right onto the ledge this time. Now use a series of wooden poles sticking from the wall to cross to the other side. When there, leap across the gap to another walkway--it'll start to collapse under your weight, but you can still climb it up to the statue's left hand. Interact with it to knock it into place.
Now for the top-left hand. Look for some bricks in the corner, just to the left (at the top of the newly formed ramp) that you can climb. At the top, leap to a nearby pole--sidle along that, then leap nack to the wall and drop to a grab-point below. Interact with the top-left hand here to knock it into its proper position.
With all the arms in the proper place, a secret keyhole will now be revealed in the statue's center. Climb up to it and insert the key.
With the key inserted, the pool's water willd rain revealing an entranceway. Drop down and head inside…after Chloe, of course. Follow the lengthy corridor down some stairs, then over a "short drop." Continue onward around a central structure to a pair of statues--climb the headless one on the right and continue onward.
Ha, the trap door got you too, huh? After dropping in, quickly aim your gun at the spokes of one of the large turning gears embedded within one of the walls--shoot them to break them apart, preventing the spiked ceiling from dropping. Afterward, collect your gun, then exit into the hall.
That hall eventually leads into a huge room, and the next chapter.
Chapter 9: Path of Light
Climb down the stairs to a mirror--grab hold and reflect the light into the forehead of the statue ahead. Now approach said statue and insert your key into it, causing one of three blades to drop. Climb up the blade, swapping sides when necessary in order to complete your trek.
At the top, walk along the top of a second, raised blade, up to the face of the giant statue. When close, hop to the statue's eye then up to its eyebrow, which is actually a switch. After some stuff happens, continue along the ledge to the right, then up to a red one, just above the statue's ear. Follow that right, then drop to a walkway below.
Follow the walkway up to an indent in the ground. The camera will pan out, revealing some ledges you can use to lower yourself to another walkway below. Once there, Chloe will reposition a mirror near her, shining the light onto another to your left. Head left to it and reposition it so the light shines into the base of the green hanging chandelier-thing on the right.
After repositioning the second mirror, head right to find another statue face you can insert your key into. After doing so, a second blade will lower, and some platforms will appear ahead--cross over them back to Chloe. Now return to the ground-floor (via the stairs) and climb up the joint blades.
At the top, cross the final raised blade--it'll fall apart as you try to do so. While hanging on for dear life, fire a few shots into the statue's glowing forehead to reveal another light source. After doing so, Drake will fall onto the green chandelier from earlier.
From the green chandilier, leap to the nearby walkway and head left to the final mirror. Once Chloe shines some light onto it, reposition it so the light is cast into the base of the green chandilier again, which will activate another nearby statue face. Head to it on the left and insert your key once more to drop the final blade, revealing an entrance inside the mouth of the statue on the floor. Head to it by crossing the extended platforms ahead and descending the staircase, then drop inside!
After dropping down the statue's throat, approach a small structure just ahead and interact with it, causing a sweet-looking map to appear, as well as the next chapter.
Chapter 10: Only One Way Out
To exit the room, climb back up the wall that Chloe is facing. Just before climbing out of the throat completely, hang from the top and use it for cover as you target a few enemies on the staircase ahead. You won't be able to target them all from here, so move up to the blades for cover and target the rest.
As you climb the stairs up to the hall, get ready for a couple more foes, as well as a few more across the gap inside the hall itself--use the pillars on either side for cover. Continue down the staircase, ready for an enemy at the base. Take cover by the next corner to tackle some more fools heading your way, then continue through that very room.
After climbing a tall staircase, take cover behind a pillar at the top to clear out the subsequent corridor. Soon after, you'll drop into a pit of water that branches both ways. Before taking either path, check each corridor and take down three enemies before proceeding--one of whom is shielded (try to sneak up behind him from either side for an easy kill).
Now the next corridor also is home to several enemies--move up, from pillar to pillar, until you're close enough to safely target them. As you climb the subsequent staircase, watch out for a shotgun toting baddie--take cover by the steps on either side and take him out. Watch out for one more enemy at the top too.
Continue through the same corridor leading out of the underground temple, back into the main room. Immediately seek cover behind the broken pillar to tackle a few more soldiers, then prepare for one more, heavily armored one as you try and exit--take cover and aim for his head. Once he's down, follow Chloe outside.
Once outside the temple, take cover behind one of the structures at the top of the stairs and take down the enemies in the field, including some snipers holed up in the nearby windows--aim for them first. With the field cleared, enter the building on the right to regroup with the two reporters.
Chapter 11: Keep Moving
With the cameraman weighing you down, you won't be going anywhere fast. Oh, and you can't take cover either! For now, ignore the enemies and enter the first building on the left. Elena will barricade the door, making this area safe…for now. Exit out the other side.
As you proceed up the street, watch out for two enemies on the left, as well as several more ahead. Just stay back, use the corners for cover, and take them down from a distance (and don't sweat it when Chloe gets grabbed--she can handle herself). Proceed up the staircase when clear.
When a truck rolls up, get ready to duck into a building Elena opens on the left. At the closed gate ahead, take aim at the rocket launcher on a balcony above, before proceeding through.
What? Another truck? Quickly duck into another building on the right. As you exit back onto the street, a third will roll in--follow Elena through another door on the right and continue up the staircase within, where you'll be captured by the enemy…
…well, not for long! Just keep running toward the camera, jumping periodically, to make your escape! When the camera switches views, and a truck blocks your path, veer left down an alley. Jump across the gap using a blue pole you can swing from and clamber up the wall. Once there, tap "Triangle" when instructed to catch Elena when she makes her jump, before continuing onward to the chapter's end.
Chapter 12: A Train to Catch
As you step outside, you'll spot some guards below. Remember, you don't have a gun yet, so that should be your first priority. Wait here a moment for a guard to climb the far ladder, up to the broken platform. Once he turns away, leap over to him via the signpost and platform on the left and perform a stealth kill. Now the moment you take him down, rapidly tap "Triangle" to grab his weapon mid-air--if you don't, it'll tumble to the ground below. Now take cover behind one of the low barriers and use said weapon to take down the remaining baddies, including a shotgun toting fellow below.
With the area cleared, Elena will join you on that same platform--toss her to a ladder above and follow her up when she kicks down the remainder. From the fire escape, leap to the nearby platform, where Elena will discover a blocked gate.
To get around the blocked gate, leap to a signpost from the other end of the platform (even though it's parallel to the gate itself) then swing from the street lamp to the orange sign ahead. While hanging here, take aim at the boards blocking the gate to let Elena through. Now continue hanging here for cover, as some enemies are inbound from ahead--take them down. After the first wave, hop to the other side of the sign and gear up to take down a few more coming from the opposite direction, including a sniper to the bottom-left. Once they're down, three more enemies will appear to your left--take down the one on the lower platform first, then hop back over the sign for cover as you destroy the remaining two.
With the area cleared, Elena will lower a walkway that you can hop to. Follow it to a ladder through the doorway that can be climbed up to the water tower.
At the water tower, Elena will take off on her own for now. Head left and take a zipline down to the train yard. Once there, push the cart blocking the door aside and head inside.
Climb up the orange train car on the far side (via the boxes just in front of it), then leap to another on the left using the boxes by the window. Continue across it to a walkway.
Leap from the barrels at the end of the walkway to a second walkway on the right, where you'll find a train car. Head inside and pull the switch to release the brake, causing it to careen through the wall, crashing just outside.
Uh-oh, looks like you've drawn attention to yourself! Take cover by the window inside the train car and open fire on the enemies beyond. Make sure to target any enemies who attempt to approach before they get too close, keeping a close eye for those trying to sneak up via the right or left windows. Once you've thinned the crowd ahead, take down a sniper out each of the side windows, before turning your attention back to the field. There's also an explosive cannister or two outside each of the windows that can be detonated to destroy nearby thugs.
Once things quiet down, a truck will roll in and unleash two machine-gun toting baddies. Don't even bother with them. Instead, simply remain in cover and wait until Elena rolls in, giving you an exit!
Chapter 13: Locomotion
Grabbing hold of a moving train? Oh that crazy Drake. Anyway, follow the railing to ladder on the left that you can climb up to the roof of the first train car.
Drop to the platform before the next train car and follow the yellow pipe around to the ride, alongside the length of the container. Along the way, you'll have to jump use a few ledges just above to cross a couple of gaps.
Cross over to a ladder ahead and follow the roof up to an enemy you can stealth kill. Now drop to the next train car and use a box for cover as you tackle three enemies ahead. Proceed into the carriage ahead and get ready to tackle an enemy who dives at you through a window. Once he's down, you'll find the exit door is locked, so hop out one of the open windows and sidle across to a ladder and climb it to the roof.
After climbing to the roof, leap to the train car ahead and sneak up an enemy resting against a box on the left for a stealth kill. Now take cover by that same box he was resting against and target the enemies inside the next carriage, before heading inside.
Once inside that carriage, you'll begin taking fire from a machine gunner station in the next car. Quickly clamber outside a window on either side, then climb the ladder to the roof. Before jumping to the roof of the next train car, take down an enemy there, as well as another below, just inside the carriage.
Once clear, leap over to the next roof to find a glass ceiling--target the machine gunner through it, as well as any remaining baddies. Now start climbing the ladder of the next train car, but don't clamber to the top yet--the train's about to pass by a whole ton of traffic signals, which will kill Nate instantly if he's hit. Wait for the first one to pass, pull yourself up quickly, and dart across the roof, off the front side. Although an enemy or two lurks on the next train car, let one of the passing signals take them out--as soon as it's behind you, clamber back up to the roof via the ladder and leap to that next train car.
As run dash across the roof, you likely won't be able to make it before the next signal--quickly drop off and hang onto either side of the train car to let it pass, before continuing on to a train car containing a tank.
After crossing over the tank car, you'll encounter another container you'll have to sidle along the side of, via the pipe. Except this time, you'll have to dodge several signal lights coming up alongside the train! Scurry along the bar and quickly leap leap to the ledges above for shelter from the passing signals, before dropping back down and continuing along the pipe to the other side.
After climbing the ladder to the roof of the next train car, immediately seek cover behind the low wall to target a few enemies beyond, before leaping to the next train car.
Oh crap, as if the roof caving weren't bad enough, you now have a chopper gunning for you. Even worse, it'll systematically destroy the train cars as you move along them (you can tell missiles are inbound when you hear the whirring noise--that indicates it's time to get moving!), so it's important you move at a pretty good clip (although you should have time to tackle the enemies along the way). For now, quickly leap out the back side of the car--before the helicopter destroys it completely--to the platform ahead.
Quickly seek cover--any cover that puts something between you and the chopper--for protection from its fire. Keep an ear out for the whirring of its weapons--any time you hear it start up, look for shelter! Anyway, work your way across the train car and get ready to tackle a few enemies at the far end. Use the boxes for cover, from both them and the chopper, then climb up the ladder ahead when the coast is clear.
As you climb to the next roof, you'll hear a sound all too familiar--signals! Quickly drop to the left side of the train for both protection from the lights, as well as from the chopper, and sidle along the ledge to the next platform.
Dart across the platform, but take cover as soon as some enemies drop in and focus on them first. When clear, hurry into the green, open-air, car ahead and grab the rocket launcher on the left.
Take cover inside the doorway and wait for the helicopter to stop firing--as soon as it does, step out and fire a rocket at the chopper. If you miss, don't worry--you can grab more nearby. As soon as you hit it with one, the helicopter will veer to the side--this is your cue to leave. Quickly turn the valve along the back wall to reveal an exit and hop to the next platform, where the next chapter awaits.
Chapter 14: Tunnel Vision
Follow the pipe around either side of the next car, leaping to the edge of the roof--wait for the enemy there to walk near, then pull him off for a stealth kill! Although there's a lot of ammo (as well as a sniper, if you're interested), hold off on it for now and instead continue toward the next train car. Climb the ladder there and quickly pull off both enemies there before they know what happened.
Continue to hold onto the top of the ladder and target a few more enemies, further up the train. Once they're down, continue along the roof to the next train car. More enemies will be waiting for you there, so we suggest jumping to the roof's ledge for cover and tackling them while hanging (this will help you evade an incoming signal as well).
When clear, jump to the next train car and shoot the enemies inside through the skylight. Continue past the platform with the parked jeeps to a locked door--shoot the lock to head inside.
Inside the train car, you'll find the back door is blocked. To exit, climb up the boxes in the middle and hop out through the broken skylight to the roof. Now as you heard toward the next one, a cutscene shows numerous enemies heading your way. Pick off the first few enemies you can spot first, before hopping to the bottom of the next train car.
Take cover by the entrance of the next train car to target the enemies inside, before heading through and leaping to the next train car, where you should do the exact same thing. Except this time, once you clear the interior, push forward and take cover near the exit to target a few more enemies on the platform ahead. Once they're down, cross over it to another with a large truck.
Upon climbing the large truck, a big machine-gun toting baddie will appear. Push forward only when he relents in his fire, taking cover either by the windshelds of the two trucks along the way (be sure to take down an enemy or two as well). When you reach the bed of the final truck, take cover by its tailgate and target the two metallic brackets on top of the piled logs ahead. They'll fall apart, taking the machine gunner with them--sweet!
Unfortunately, your old friend, the helicopter, will again roll in. Dash for the next carriage, taking cover along the way if you need to regain health. Once there, exit out the other side and hurry along to a tank.
Wait…a tank?! Hop inside and open fire on the gunship, using the smoke trails to track it. When it fires missiles, it's crucial you take a moment to shoot those down first, before turning focus to the gunship.
With the gunship destroyed, immediately seek cover behind the nearby box and target the attacking enemies, both on top and inside the train car ahead. When clear, continue up to the next train car, and immediatly seek cover by the first seat inside, as a very strong enemy is coming your way (despite him wearing next to nothing.)
Alright, so you're taking cover by the seat, right? So the trick with this guy is to shoot him in the noggin until his helmet flies off, making him vulnerable. Remain here for now and lay into him with whatever you've got. If he tosses a grenade, quickly back into the entrance of the car, taking cover by the door until it explodes, before returning to your seat. After some more hits, he'll likely bum-rush you. Time your melee attacks and counters to push him behind you, then quickly dart to the other side of the car and take cover behind another seat there. Continue to unload whatever you've got into his noggin--once you've relieved him of his helmet, wait for him to approach, then melee him to enter the final sequence. After successfully countering him, hammer on the attack button as shown to defeat him, ending the chapter.
Chapter 15: Train Wrecked
Well, this looks familiar, doesn't it? Simply climb up the train just as you did before at the start of the game.
After climbing the train, Drake will stumble upon the dagger--with the enemies hot on his tail! As soon as you regain control, sneak up on the soldier who just walked past and stealth kill him. Now we suggest climbing onto the roof of the building just ahead (in the same direction the soldier was heading) via the ladder on its side.
After climbing up, take cover behind the low wall and begin targeting the enemies ahead, followed by a few more on a roof to the right, and the corridor to the left (also be on the lookout for enemies climbing up behind you). Once they're down, more will storm in ahead. After taking them down, more will appear from behind--flip over to the other side of the wall for cover and target them too. A cannister on the ground, if shot early, can take most of them down. If you need ammo at any point, the adjacent corridor houses several weapons and grenades. Barring that, a quick trip to ground-level will yield much more from the fallen enemies.
Once you've cleared the area of all enemies, climb up the wall, all the way left of the flames to complete the chapter.
Chapter 16: Where Am I?
Hey, you've made a new friend! Follow him through town to the far home, where you'll complete the chapter. Just take in the sights along the way and feel free to interact with the villagers.
Chapter 17: Mountaineering
Follow your new friend into the ice cave, off a short drop, and across a gap to a rope. Wait for him to throw to use it as a grapple, then leap to the rope and swing across the chasm, then climb down the nearby ladder.
After climbing down the ladder, proceed into the ice tunnel and throw a couple of small gaps, up to a ledge. Drop to the floor to discover a rope. Follow your buddy back up to the ledge and wait for him to secure the rope in place, allowing you to swing to the other side.
Follow your friend across a few jumps (and another rope!), past a collapsing walkway. After pulling yourself up, continue onward to a broken ladder. Let your friend toss you to a short path above.
After being tossed to the path, leap to the nearby wall on the right and follow it as far left as you can (dropping from ledge to ledge) before making a leap to a snowy ledge and follow it to a rope.
Climb the rope and leap to a nearby platform in the center, then to another in the wall. Sidle along it left, before dropping to the ground below.
Hop to another platform toward the center, then approach the ledge to catch your friend as he jumps toward you. Now wait for him to setup another rope and use it to cross the chasm.
Follow your friend up some more ledges, a tall wall, and across another gap to discover some mutilated wolfs. Push forward across the snowy platforms to a cliff wall you can climb.
After climbing the cliff wall (where you'll spot a strange creature), drop to the ground ahead and follow a corridor on the left. As you do, some rocks will fall behind you, blocking you in.
After the boulders block you in, climb the ridges ahead and follow the wall (jumping when necessary) to a section you can climb. Leap to a ledge on the left at the top, then to snowy platform just ahead. From here, leap over to a thin ledge, just before a pit containing a ladder.
Drop into the pit and grab the gun from the corpse on the right--use it to shoot the nearby ice barricade, allowing you to rejoin your friend.
However, before you have the chance to do much of anything, he'll be mauled by some strange creature. Immediately take aim and fill him full of holes until he leaves him alone and comes for you instead. At this point, you'll want to stay as far away from the creature as possible, while shooting him whenever you get the chance. The easiest way to do this is to run circles around the room (in whichever direction is away from the creature) while firing at him while on the move. When the creature stops moving briefly, now's your chance to take aim and deal some serious damage--aim for his head when you can. Now if the creature grabs you at any point, one of two things will happen: Either you'll be able to take aim and fire a few shots until he frees you (aim for the head), or you'll have to tap the buttons displayed on-screen to escape (it's always "Triangle" followed by "Square"). After inflicting enough damage, the creature will swap your weapon away, but thankfully your friend will come to the rescue!
After the battle, follow your best friend back into the previous room and give him a lift to the ladder. Follow him up via the box he drops then trail him across a few platforms until you reach a snowy ridge.
Upon landing on the snowy ridge, look to the long chasm to the right. See the box attached to a rope teetering along the ledge? Shoot it to knock it down to drop the rope, using it to cross to the other side. Now just climb up the very obvious ridges to a ladder, then onto a stairway leading to the next chapter.
Chapter 18: Heart of Ice
Follow the corridor, which eventually leads into a huge room with a statue--yup, you're gonna have to work your way over there.
Start off by standing on a switch to your left--wait for your friend to stand on the other, then continue left, past the now lowered wall. Climb the stairs to a few ledge you can clamber up to a pole.
As soon as you grab hold of the pole, several platforms will emerge from the wall. You must climb them quickly, before they recede! After leaping to the bottom one, follow it right and up to some ridges you can quickly clamber up by tapping jump. From there, work your way left and upward to a firm ledge in the wall, where you'll be safe.
Once at the ledge, follow it right to a series of poles you can swing from. Once at the third one, drop down to the ground via the ridges in the wall. Follow the walkway to a split path--take the stairs leading down first and pull the switch at the base. After doing so, your partner will do the same, causing three cylinders to lower nearby.
With the cylinders lowered, climb the stairs up to their level and leap to the first one. Now work your way around to the backside, and leap to the second, then do the same for the third, where you can then jump to a walkway. Now the second and third cylinders have a few obstructions on them--just work your way around them, making sure to leap to the next cylinder in a location not obstructed. Also, try and leap from each one at least a few feet up from the base, to ensure you clear the gap.
After crossing the three cylinders, you'll wind up next to a hole in the wall. Leap through it to a beam on the left, then from there to a nearby wall.
Climb the wall to the top, then leap to a girder on the left. Follow that to giant turning cog you can catch a ride on to a platform on the other side.
After riding the cog, look for a small beam you can leap from to a pole ahead, then swing from that to another cog ahead, and ride that to the platform above.
After riding the vertical cog, you'll spot a large spinning wheel-type thing blocking the path. Wait for the gap in its spokes, then jump through. Now catch a ride on another cog to a snowy wall.
Leap right the right edge of the snowy wall to another girder, then drop down to a t-section platform below.
From the side of the T-Section you landed on, look for a pole on the left that you can use to swing to a slow, spinning platform below.
After dropping to the slow, rotating platform, leap to a rope hanging toward the center of the room--use it to swing to a walkway on the far side. Though as soon as you touch-down, it'll collapse, dropping Nate to a vertical spinning cog below.
Ride the vertical cog down to a platform below, then drop down to the second of two more slow, rotating platforms. Now grab hold of the large spinning wheel alongside the wall and ride it up to a platform on the left.
Once there, ride along the top of the wheel to another walkway, then leap to the platform ahead and continue through the doorway to find a lever you can pull.
Wow, a whole lot of stuff happened after you pulled that lever! Oh well--climb down a ladder by the lever to a ledge below, then leap to a hanging chain ahead, using it to reach a far girder.
From the girder, drop to the bottom-most one and follow it left to a spinning cog. Pull yourself up , then quickly cross over the spinning cog to a girder on the opposite side. Leap from that to a yellow pole and swing to the the weights being pulled up ahead.
After grabbing hold of the weight, move around it to the left to find there's actually a whole row of them! Sidle across to the third column whenever they line up--once there, ride it so you're above a platform on the left, then sidle across to the final column and quickly leap to that platform.
Made it? Good--leap from the platform's short beam to a rope ahead, then swing from there to the wall ahead. Follow the wall left to a wheel you can ride to a walkway below.
After riding the wheel down to the walkway, jump the gap to another and ride the other side of the wheel up to a second wheel you should grab hold to.
After grabbing hold of the second wheel, ride it up to a third wheel you can climb onto. From there, leap to a pole, then swing to the ledge ahead, following it until you can pull yourself up.
Follow the corridor down to a switch on the ground--activating it causes several pillars to rise. Climb down the stairs and leap across the platforms and a few beams to reunite with your buddy. Now follow him across a few more platforms quickly (before they drop), into the temple ahead.
Inside the temple, climb the stairs to find a lever you can pull along the perimeter of the room. Pulling it will cause a platform to slowly lower from the ceiling--wait here for it (by the lever). While you wait, two creatures will attack--target them from here. Luckily, they should, for the most part, keep their distance, but keep a close eye on them when they climb up to the upper ridges, as they'll throw several large objects at you from there--run away to avoid them.
Now continue battling the creatures until the platform drops just in front of you--leap to it as soon as you can to being your ascent out of this room. However, your journey out of here will be threatened by an over-eager creature who'll grab onto Nate's leg--shoot him fast to knock him off and complete the chapter.
Chapter 19: Siege
You may want to grab the crossbow from the table before taking cover by the railing just outside. Once in cover, use the crossbow to take down the few enemies ahead (the crossbow is almost always a one-hit kill). Once you run out of crossbow bolts, we suggest grabbing the weapon you dropped from inside the house. Once clear, push forward to a low wall on the left side of the street ahead and kill the remaining enemies.
Once clear, push forward around the corner and hug the left wall. Up ahead are a ton of soldiers, as well as a machine gunner. We suggest climbing up the first left ledge you can, and proceeding into the mostly-destroyed building ahead, taking cover by the low wall on the right. From here, you can target the enemies ahead, and perhaps even the machine gunner if he reveals himself. If he doesn't, either job a grenade his way (or an explosive cannister on the left), or sneak up behind him. Once he's down, take control of that machine gun and use it to rip through the remaining troops, such as those below, and on the nearby rooftop. If it runs out of ammo, take cover by the adjacent sandbags and target whoever's left.
With the area clear, continue up the street until a rocket launcher appears and blocks off your path. Nate will automatically take cover by a nearby low wall--remain here and pick off the enemies up the stairs, focusing on the rocket launcher first. You may want to relocate to a second wall on the left to better target the enemies on the right left.
Once they're down, head up the stairs through the door they came through. Just watch out for an enemy who may be waiting inside a small room on the left. Continue past and follow your friend up the stairs to a door he'll open.
While your friend works on getting the door open, take cover on the right side, so that you're ready to target a shotgun-toting baddie inside. Afterward, climb up a couple of ladders to the roof--just take a moment at the top of the first ladder to kill a nearby enemy.
From the roof, leap to another ahead and seek cover behind either of the low walls to target some enemies on he rooftop ahead, as well as several more ahead. Once you've thinned the herd, move over to the left side and target some more enemies on the ground below. If you run out of ammo, drop through the hole in the ceiling into the house below for more.
After stocking up, head around the side of the house and take cover by a short wall perpendicular to a wooden fence. Remain here to target more enemies below, including one equipped with a grenade launcher--take him down as soon as you see him. Subsequently, follow the fence to a pair of stairwells
Follow the wooden fence to a pair of wooden stairwells, then down a couple of ladders to ground-level. Take cover on either side of the opening on the left to target a few more enemies through it, before following your friend inside the home on the right and up the ladder.
Chapter 20: Cat and Mouse
Did you see the chapter's title? You're the mouse, and the cat's a tank…yeah, not exactly fair, we know. Anyway, for now, just dart up the staircase dead-ahead, up to a locked door. Wait here for your friend to catch up and open the door for you. (and don't worry about the tank that busts through the wall--you'll be running from it a lot).
Once through the door, hop out the window and follow the path, shooting a couple of enemies along the way. After climbing the stairs, take cover behind a short, red fence and aim for the enemies on a roof ahead.
With the enemies down, clamber over the wall and follow the path, hugging the right side, all the way to a fence (just past a couple of mostly-destroyed buildings). Once there, ignore the enemies and dash up the staircase across the street, then across the red bridge. Although the bridge will be destroyed, you've just triggered a checkpoint!
With the bridge destroyed, run toward the camera and hop through the opening into the house. Climb the ladder within and take cover at the top to target the enemies across from you, before leaping over.
Continue through the building to a large hole in the wall. Take down an enemy in a building across the way, then leap over to it. Help your friend clear the debris from the exit, then follow him out and quickly follow him across the gap. After crossing, make haste for a doorway on the right--even if the tank almost runs you over!
Phew, you're safe…for a few moments anyway. Follow the path--taking down a few enemies along the way--up to a split path. Because the tank rolls in ahead, make a right and immediately take cover behind a low wall on the left to target a few dudes beyond.
After killing the soldiers, follow the path and closely hug the right wall--there's an easy to miss gap between the buildings you need to go through, leading to a snowy ledge (f you run into the tank at any point, you went the wrong way). Drop down a couple of snow-covered ledges, then sidle along the wall to a walkway.
Climb the wall at the end of the walkway--as soon as you do, the tank will burst through a wall behind you! Quickly run along the path to a stairwell, leading into a house at the top. Take cover behind one of the overturned tables inside and target the enemies beyond.
With the house cleared, exit outside to the back of the house through a door on the left (opposite where the tank is) and climb the ladder to the roof. Kill the enemy there, but grab his rocket launcher and fire it at the tank. Now take cover behind either of the nearby walls and shoot the visible enemies, such as in the house to the lower-right, as well as to the left.
With the enemies down, drop off the left half of the ledge and follow the gray path on the ground into the next house. As soon as you enter, flip over the table for cover and kill the enemies there.
When clear, climb the ladder in the back to the upper floor, then leap to the roof through the hole in the ceiling. Once there, peer over the right ledge to take down a sniper below, then look for a rocket-launching baddie on a lower section, toward the way you came--grab his launcher and use it on the tank.
Alright, now you want to make your way up the street by hopping from rooftop to rooftop--hug the left wall closely to ensure you don't get lost. You'll want to duck into a thin path on the left, where you'll find a ladder. As soon as you pull yourself up, leap to a rooftop behind you and kill a rocket-launching baddie there--use it on the tank. Now take cover behind the low wall and target the enemies in the building across the street.
Cleared the building across the street? Good. Drop to ground level via a couple of ledges on the right, then quickly run past the tank into that building (via the staircase) and look for some rocket launchers along the right wall--use them on the tank to destroy it once and for all!
Chapter 21: Convoy
What's an Uncharted game without a high-speed chase sequence involving tons of vehicles (never mind the fact this is only the second game in the series). So this level boils down to leaping quickly vehicle to vehicle (whenever they get close enough) before the one you're on explodes--if you spot flames, or hear Nate comment that the vehicle's on fire, leap to another ASAP. Along the way, you'll want to take cover inside each one and target as many enemies in the nearby vehicles as you can--try taking out the drivers in the open-air jeeps to take the whole lot down.
The chapter begins with Nate hanging onto the side of the first convoy. Either pull him off if he's close enough, or shoot him while hanging, then climb inside the truck bed. Take cover inside the truck bed and target the enemies inside a second truck on the right. When it pulls ahead, wait until the vehicles bump into one another, leap leap to that one. Take cover again and target the other nearby vehicles.
When you reach the branching paths, get ready to leap to another vehicle just as they rejoin into one. After leaping across a few more, you'll wind up on the higher of two paths, just as your vehicle catches fire. Look for another directly below (on the lower path) and leap to it. Now you'll be able to take control of a mounted grenade launcher! Use it to destroy the vehicle on your tail for the remainder of the level, before leaping to Elena's truck when it gets close enough.
Chapter 22: The Monastery
Work your way up the cliff, to the ledge just below a pair of enemies--grab both and toss them off the ledge quickly (while hanging). After pulling yourself up, grab their dropped weapons and use the truck for cover as you take down an enemy ahead. Now move up to the back far end of the truck for cover to target the remaining two enemies.
With the area clear, climb the staircase up to a fortress, containing a ton of enemies. We suggest grabbing the crossbow from the base of the stairs then taking cover behind the low wall at the top, and use it to target the three easily visible enemies on the right, one after the other (they won't know what hit them). Once they're down, cross over the wooden beam and head around the right, to where the guards were. Take cover by the low wall (where the three guards were) and target the beyond, including on a balcony to the right. Target the closer enemies first, and save your grenades for enemies that group together.
Once you've cleared them out, follow Elena through that area, up to a low wall that offers protection from a machine-gunner across the river--the goal is to take him down from behind, but there are some things you need to take care of first. Move up to the cart just ahead and push it to the far side of the bridge. Once it tips over, leap over to a low platform on the right and climb up the brick wall, stopping at the top to target the visible enemies.
After pulling yourself up, follow the path up and climb up into the building, and follow it to the far room. Take cover by the entrance to clear out the room, then quickly sneak up and take down the machine gunner on the left from behind.
As soon as you've killed the machine gunner, take control if it asap, as a ton of enemies are inbound from the other side of the river. Try and take down the snipers first (as visible by their targeting lasers), but refocus your attention to the bridge of any enemies try to cross--especially a group of three heavily armored foes (you don't want them to get close!). Once Elena declares the area cleared, follow her to a door behind you and open it via the cranks.
Just past the door is a seemingly impassable span…but not for Nathan! A jutting wall to the left contains several red grip-points that can be used to lower yourself to a level below. Now following them down can seem a bit tricky--it's best to move from grip-point to grip-point, tilting the control stick toward each one to ensure Drake grabs hold (don't try anything fancy, such as dropping to them). Once you reach the lowest red grip-point of the jutting wall, leap to another series on the left, which you can descend to the lowest level.
After dropping to the lower level, jump to the nearby platform to find a rope you can toss to Elena. Now cross over the narrow beam and leap off the upcoming ledge to a wall ahead that can be climbed. At the top, leap to a ledge opposite Drake, then catch Elena as she jumps across herself.
After catching Elena, work together to push the nearby statue from behind, allowing you to climb up it to an opening above. Now follow the wooden boards to a rope you can climb. Now follow Elena up the stairs, jumping the gaps, to a locked door.
When at the locked door, turn around to find a column on the left with some red-grip points--you can reach them via the walkway leading to it. After pulling yourself up, follow the roof to the far corner, then leap to thin beam and follow it to the next corner--from there, leap to the bricks in the wall dead-ahead.
Follow the bricks around to the left, then up, and back to the right. Leap from the last brick to a platform on the right, adjacent to a door. Now jump up a couple of grip-points above, which leads to a series of wooden beams. Follow them, swinging when necessary, around the building to a ledge just below an enemy--pull him off before pulling yourself up.
From the roof, peer over the interior ledge to begin targeting the enemies within. Once you've thinned their ranks, begin dropping to the lower levels, working your way to the ground floor. As you close in, a rocket will blow you to the ground--but on the upside, Elena will rejoin you.
After being blown to the ground floor, immediately seek cover behind the two pieces of debris just ahead and pick off the enemies beyond. Once clear, cross the bridge and take cover to either side of the entrance into the tower to take down the enemies within.
With the tower cleared, toss Elena up to a ladder within and follow her up when she kicks it down to you. Now you'll want to work your way up to the tower's roof by climbing the ladders floor to floor--move quick or take cover to evade the sniper's line-of-sight. However, on the floor just below the roof, you'll have to clamber up some ridges outside to make it.
When you reach the roof, grab the sniper and take cover behind the wooden boxes. Now use it to take down the enemies in the towers ahead--just make sure to take down the rocket launcher first, in the second tower from the right. After taking out a few enemies, many more will attempt to come at you from the bridge--luckily you can target them from here too. If you run out of ammo, plenty more can be found nearby.
After clearing the bridge and towers, drop to the level below and cross over the think plank, then across the bridge. At the halfway point, the bridge will collapse, leaving Nate hanging on for dear life. Begin climbing it up the left, then the right--after it falls apart some more, leap to the wooden planks sticking out, then up the rest where Elena will pull you to safety.
With the bridge behind you, climb the staircase to a large snowy courtyard, where a large firefight awaits. We recommend heading left as soon you drop in and climbing up the wall there. Quickly take down the first enemy ahead, then immediately seek cover behind in the corner of the destroyed wall. From here, target the enemies on the remainder of the walkway first (including a grenade launcher and sniper which you can collect if you need additional ammo), as well as on the adjacent rooftop, before turning your attention to those in the field below. If you're having trouble targeting some of the enemies, follow the walkway into the building ahead and climb down the stairs to the exit, which you can use to shoot through at the remaining enemies. Having cleared the courtyard, open the door on the opposite side by turning the wheel.
Once past the door, head down the stairs to a broken ladder. After tossing Elena up to it, follow her when she kicks down the box, then cross over to her when she repositions the plank. Now follow her lead up the wall, to a window.
Kill the first enemy inside while hanging from the window, before climbing inside and using the object by the staircase for cover to target the remainders. Once clear, exit out the other side and follow the snowy path to a door you can open, completing the chapter.
Chapter 23: Reunion
As soon as the level begins, take cover behind the railing to either the left or right and target both ahead, as well as on the upper level. If you run out of ammo, push forward to a box just ahead where you can find more--but watch out for a rocket-launching baddie on either side of the room and take them down asap! Once things quiet down, climb the staircase on the right, kill the enemy at the top, and take cover behind the railing to target more enemies that enter from a doorway on the other side.
With the room cleared, follow the upper walkway to the far door and continue through a few rooms--just be ready for an enemy to try and ambush you around one of the corners. Proceed up the staircase where you'll watch a cutscene with the old dying guy.
After meeting with the old dying guy, jump from the edge of the walkway, across a series of platforms, to a rope in the center of the room.
Swing from the rope to a walkway on the right and follow that outside. Once outside, leap to the nearby rooftop and take cover behind the raised section, so you can target a few enemies just ahead.
After killing the enemies, drop off the right edge of the rooftop (by the right-most window) to a walkway below. As you turn the corner, take down an enemy atop the ladder ahead before climbing up.
Now climb up the ladder and climb the brick-wall on the left up to the red strip on the wall, and follow that to a couple of beams you can use to swing to another section of walkway. From there, leap to a roof below.
After landing on the lower roof, you'll spot some enemies shooting at something--if you have a grenade, toss it between them to quickly murder them all. If not, shoot them. Once they're down, drop to ground level and seek cover behind the low wall adjacent to the central staircase. Remain here and target the inbound enemies, including a rocket-launcher on the left ledge ahead. If the enemies get too close for comfort, try retreating around the backside of the staircase. Once you've cleared the area, climb the stairs ahead to a door on the right that you can open.
Through the door, you'll wind up in an area with two heavily armored baddies toting mini-guns. Luckily, there are some rocket launchers nearby that'll make short work of them. Start off by climbing the ladder just right of the entrance--at the top, continue onto the walkway to the right, then leap to the walkway below, where you'll find a rocket launcher resting against the left wall. Now use it to take down the two patrolling baddies below--it takes two rockets a piece. While you're doing this, another normal baddie may attack from a room to your right--take him down when you get a chance. You can also jump over to that location to find additional rockets at the top of the stairs, should you need them.
With the two minigun guys down, more enemies will flood in. A low wall at the top of the staircase provides great cover while you target them. You may also want to grab a nearby minigun to wipe them all out quickly.
Once you've completely cleared the area, you'll have to make your way to an open window, just above the staircase. To get there, reclimb the ladder at the entrance to the upper walkway, then cross the gap using the red bricks on the right. Once across, you'll find a walkway on the left that leads right to the window, allowing you inside.
Inside the building, drop to the lower level and continue up another staircase leading to an awning outside. Climb the bricks to you left to a red wooden beam you can sidle along to a walkway.
Follow the walkway to a series of red beams ahead you can use to reach an open window. Once through, climb up a couple of furniture pieces inside to an awning, then climb up to another section via the large crack in the wall. Now climb along the bricks, leading into a room containing a puzzle.
Inside this room, you'll find four objects along the left wall, each corresponding to one of the paintings in the room. You'll have to move the four objects onto the switch in front of the respective painting. Thankfully, your handy diary shows which shape goes with which painting. Or you can just consult this list:
- Bird: Triangle
- Green Tiger: Half-Circle
- Dragon: Circle
- Lion Square
With all four objects in the proper place, you'll have to solve the second part of the puzzle. This time, a wheel with a symbol appears beneath each painting. This wheel can be rotated to display one of six symbols--you have to find the one that matches each painting. For this one, it's best to consult your journal (or the pictures of it below). You want to match the color of the creature (listed below) with that of the shape of the same color. Once you figured out the shape, spin the wheel below that creature's painting until it's selected. Although there are six symbols displayed in your book, you can ignore the black and blue ones, as they don't correspond to anything. Here's what the rest correlate to:
- Bird: Red
- Green Tiger: Green
- Dragon: White
- Lion Yellow
With the puzzle solved, a window will open above. Climb up to it via the column directly beneath it. Once outside, ride the zip line on the right into a building, jump the gap, then climb the staircase, jumping over the hole halfway. At the exit, grab hold of the red beam along the wall, and follow it to some bricks that you can use to climb up to the rooftop.
After the cutscene, you'll regain control with Nate behind a wall for cover. Two guards will soon begin patrolling the area--stealth kill the one that sits down on that same box just after the far one turns away--immediately after, take cover behind the box just ahead (on the left) and wait for the second guard to approach for another stealth kill.
With the first two guards down, it's best to climb the stairs on the right up to a high walkway. Be quick on the draw to take down a rocket launcher you'll encounter, then take cover on that same platform by the low wall on the right, allowing you to target the foes in the field below. Now just ahead is a stationed machine gunner that you'll want to sneak up on from behind. To do so, drop down when the field is clear and hug the right wall up to a section you can climb, leading right to the gunner. Once you've killed him, take control of the turret and use it to clear out a few more enemies who'll attack, mostly from the right.
Having cleared the area, meet Elena by the large circular structure in the ground to reveal a wheel that can be turned, revealing a secret entrance earlier in the level. Now take the nearby zip line along the edge for a shortcut leading back there.
After dropping from the zip line, leap to a platform on the left below, then climb down the ladder to the floor. Quickly seek cover behind a low wall and target the enemies coming your way from the stairs ahead, including one equipped with a shield. Once they're down, climb the stairs and take cover by the low wall at the top to target two enemies rappelling down the left wall.
Subsequently, use their ropes to climb over the wall and follow the path to the secret entrance, leading underground to the next chapter (look for a second set of stairs to either side of the first at the base).
Chapter 24: The Road to Shambhala
Oh, another puzzle? Well, this one's easy! There are four swords embedded in the wall--simply turn them so the stabby end is facing down (if you haven't touched them yet, you should only have to rotate two of them). Once you have, interact with the globe in the middle of the room.
After the cutscene, you'll be teamed up with your good friend again. Start off by leaping across a few platforms to the far wall. Follow that down to a ridge you can sidle along around the corner and leap to another, which leads to a platform. Give your partner a boost over the wall here and follow him up when he kicks down the stone that can be used as a platform.
Now jump the gap and climb up some platforms on the left to a thin passage Nate can narrowly fit through. Up ahead is a statue that'll require teamwork to push off. Once you have, drop to the ledge and follow it right, leaping when necessary to a far platform with a cart you can push from behind. After doing so, leap from it to the wall and follow it to some statues you can cross, along the wall again, before leaping to a ledge.
Follow the walkway to another you can leap to on the left, then follow that to a staircase you can climb.
Continue through the door at the top of the stairs to find a room with a puzzle. In this room, you'll find three raised cylinders on either side--climb up the grates just below to reach them. Now you're going to have to turn the cylinders to that their pattern matches those displayed in your book (as shown in the picture below)--easy stuff. Once you've finished, turn the the wheel that appears in the room's center.
Shortly thereafter, some more of those creatures will roll in. Just stick to the lower level and run away while firing at them--if they get close, jump or roll to evade them. If they do attack, you can bat them off by tapping the buttons show on-screen. Before long, regardless of whether you've killed any of them or not, the chapter will end.
Chapter 25: Broken Paradise
For this first area, don't bother trying to find the enemies. Instead, simply run along the main path, sticking to the left side whenever the path seemingly branches. Just keep an eye out for a couple of easy-to-miss gaps you need to jump. Before long, you'll wind up on a platform that will begin tumbling--just stay on board and focus on avoiding a couple of enemies along for the ride.
After crash landing, follow the path down to a broken structure. After the cutscene, proceed into the back area just beyond it, which will cause two superhuman warriors to appear. Now these guys are powerful, but thankfully, once you've taken down one, you can use his crossbow to easily take down the other. As such, it's best to focus all of your fire on just one of them, so try and keep track of that one as they leap around the arena.
We suggest starting off by taking cover behind one of the pillars to the right (assuming you're facing toward the central structure) and waiting for one of the creatures to leap onto the structure overhead. Once he's visible, lay into him with everything you've got. Eventually, one of them will drop to your level and begin chasing you around--we suggest staying in this confined section and dart around the central pillar while jumping/rolling to avoid his attacks (as long as you stay here, you should be relatively protected from the second enemy's attacks). Try and attack him while running away, but feel free to take a moment to aim for him whenever you've put some space between the two of you. Although he's built like a tank, it's just a matter of time before he goes down.
Once you've defeated the first enemy (hopefully while he was on ground level), grab the crossbow he drops and use it to target the remaining enemy, whose likely leaping about. Target it from behind cover--a single shot should take him out. Now once he's down, a third one will appear, this time lobbing grenades. Just keep on the move whenever he's about to toss a grenade to avoid its landing zone, then target him while he prepares the next one with the crossbow.
With the area cleared, climb up the rubble in the back to a walkway above. Follow it to a gap where you can leap to a second, then jump to the suspended column to the top of the structure ahead. Now cross to the other side of the room, leaping rooftop to rooftop, and continue into the forest area beyond.
A short ways into the forest area, you'll encounter a weird blue substance growing on some trees. Shoot it to cause an explosion, revealing a staircase you can climb.
After climbing the stairs, shoot some more blue stuff on the right and continue into the next room. There, you'll spot a rope across a gap--you can reach it by leaping to the mossy stones on the right. Once at the rope, use it to swing to some more moss-covered stones on the left, then climb them up to a pole you can leap to.
While hanging from the pole, sidle along it to the left then pull out your gun to target some more blue-stuff ahead, revealing an entranceway you can swing into. Once inside, look through the exit to spot some more just above a vine-covered entranceway--shooting it, of course, allows you to continue through the entrance below and up the staircase beyond.
You'll wind up in a vast and beautiful area containing some ruins. Climb up the destroyed section on the left, forming a ramp into the destroyed building. You'll soon encounter a closed door on the left--upon attempting to open it, some enemies will storm in from where you just came from.
When the enemies storm in, we suggest heading up to a walkway above and taking cover by one of the pillars, providing a good view of the field below. Your first priority should be to take down the distant snipers as well as the machine gunner below--we recommend throwing all of your grenades at him, then finishing him off with gun fire. Once you've cleared them out, two hunters will roll in. If you can, try and grab either the dropped minigun or a shotgun, both of which can take down one quickly. Once you have, grab the crossbow they in turn drop and use it to take out the remainder.
Once you've cleared the ruins of the enemies' presence, return to the closed door. Although it's missing a weight, Drake can fill in for that role. To do so, climb up the stones along the left wall to reach the yellow strip, which you can sidle along to the chain, thus opening the door.
Drop into the river past the door to find a trio of enemies forging ahead. If you have a grenade, we suggest tossing it at the group for a quick victory. However, numerous more enemies await ahead--take cover behind one of the pillars and aim for the grenade launcher on the right side of the walkway ahead, before focusing on the remaining enemies. Push forward up the stairs ahead and grab onto the side of the walkway above to target a few more enemies beyond. You may also want to consider grabbing the dropped grenade launcher to help clear out the remainders.
With the room cleared, clamber up the back wall to an opening above and drop through the hole inside. After landing, quickly seek cover behind the low wall to target a few more enemies. After taking care of them, help Elena push a cart which can be leapt from to a ledge above. Continue up the huge staircase beyond into the old temple.
Once inside the old temple, take cover by the left side of the wall and remain here to stay out of sight while the hunters and soldiers battle it out below. Only attack those who dare to approach via the stairs on the left. Once things have died down (so to speak), focus on taking down the mini-gunner if he's still alive, so you can refocus your efforts onto the hunters. Lay into one with whatever you've got (though the minigun or shotgun are most effective) and grab the crossbow he drops. Now use it to target the remaining hunter, but be ready for more to appear via the upper doorway, including one who lobs grenades. Like before, keep on the move whenever he releases one to avoid its fiery aftermath. As for the hunters themselves, you should be able to pick them off easily with a crossbow by taking cover behind one of the central pillars.
With the room clear, climb the stairs up to the doorway the hunters came from, and continue up a long series of staircases to where your treasure awaits.
Great, so not only is the 'treasure' not quite what Nate was expecting, but Elena was shot too! Forge ahead while Chloe tends to her. At the first corner, take cover behind the low wall and open fire on the enemies ahead. Push forward to a column if you're having trouble picking them off. Make sure to aim for the snipers first, as they offer the biggest headache. Once you clear 'em all out, follow the walkway to compete the chapter.
Chapter 26: Tree of Life
Descend the staircase and follow the path, leading into the base of the Tree of Life.
What's Lazarevic up to now? Apparently gaining super-human strength, that's what! So as you may have noticed, there are blue sacs all over the place--these babies explode when shot and are the key to defeating Lazarevic. In fact, don't even bother shooting Lazarevic directly, as the only way he can be harmed is by detonating those sacs with a few shots each. Thankfully, they have a large blast radius--as long as Lazarevic is somewhere nearby, he'll feel the heat.
Lazarevic himself is armed with a shotgun, which of course becomes deadlier the closer you are to it. As such, you want to stay as far away as you can, while staying close enough to lure him to the sacs. Your goal is to lead him from sac to sac (it doesn't matter in what order, plus they respawn in short order) and then shoot it as he passes by, detonating it for massive damage. Now unless you get too far ahead, Lazarevic has a tendancy to keep on your trail, so it's often best to turn around after passing a sac, then detonate it just as Lazarevic is passing by.
We suggest continually circling the perimeter of the room, pausing periodically (and briefly) to detonate the sacs as Lazarevic passes by (remember, as long as he's not too far behind, he should be following the same path you did).
Now Lazarevic is no fool, and he'll attempt to use the sacs in the same way. Try to avoid running too close to them and especially avoid lingering next to one. If you've stopped close to one to wait for Lazarevic, make sure you're far enough away that he can't use it against you. If, however, you're waiting by a sac at the end of a long-stretch, try and seek cover nearby to evade Lazarevic's blast, while he gets close enough to the sac before detonating it. Also, if he happens to get close enough to grab you, hammer on the attack button until he drops you and then get the hell out of there!
Periodically, after inflicting enough damage, Lazarevic will wince in pain and grow more aggravated. After a few of these, he'll begin tossing grenades, first in batches of two, but soon four and more. Just keep on the move and run away--jumping if you have to--to distance yourself from where they land.
He may seem difficult at first, but once you get used to running and gunning the sacs, he'll go down in no time.
