Origin Systems has announced that this November it will sponsor the World Faire 2000, a convention for players of Ultima Online. World Faire 2000 will include over 50 panels, workshops, and roundtable discussions on a range of Ultima Online community topics, from player towns and political systems to game balance, weapons, guilds, blacksmithing and dungeons. Many of the discussions will be led by members of the game's development team. In the World Faire 2000 main hall there will be a renaissance village with an array of Ultima merchandise from licensed vendors and players. A number of game tournaments and demos will also be open for attendees.

Gordon Walton, Origin Systems vice president of online services, said "Now many [Ultima Online players] will get a chance to interact directly with the people who developed the virtual world they live in. Even better, they'll now be able to meet face to face with friends they've made in UO."

World Faire 2000 will take place in Austin, Texas on November 10 and November 11.
