Last week, Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories took the UK all-format games chart for a joyride. During the week of July 2-8, the PlayStation 2 port of the popular PSP gamer enjoyed a third successive week at number one.

The recent UK launch of the DS Lite helped two DS-exclusive titles remain in the chart, with Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training at number five and New Super Mario Bros. at number two. Nintendogs: Dalmatian and Friends and Animal Crossing: Wild World, meanwhile, have now dropped out of the top 10 altogether.

The last week of World Cup fever also helped football games maintain their grip on the chart, with 2006 FIFA World Cup and Pro Evolution Soccer 5 dropping only one place each to fourth and sixth, respectively. The film tie-in Over the Hedge also fared particularly well during the week, jumping four places on the chart from number seven to number three. Eidos' Tomb Raider: Legend and Hitman: Blood Money also returned, falling only one place each at numbers seven and nine.

The two new entries on the chart come in the form of Xbox 360 mech action title Chromehounds, which has debuted at number 10, and multplatform movie tie-in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which sailed into eighth place.
