UK Chart: Resident Evil: Revelations resurfaces in first

FIFA 13 climbs back up to second, with Donkey Kong Country Returns for the 3DS arriving in fifth.

Resident Evil: Revelations has bobbed back to the top of the UK charts following the release of the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U versions of the game.

Originally released on the 3DS in 2012, GameSpot awarded the recently-released console port a 6.5, saying that "it plays a lot like the best games in the series, but lacks the scariness and intensity that made those games special."

FIFA 13 climbs back up to second, while Metro: Last Lightslips to third from its top position last week. Dead Island: Riptide lands in fourth.

Donkey Kong Country Returns for the 3DS launches in fifth, followed by Assassin's Creed III in sixth.

Tomb Raider is seventh, Far Cry 3 eighth, Luigi's Mansion 2 ninth, and LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins is in tenth.

Activision's movie tie-in Fast & Furious: Showdown is this week's other new chart entry at 14.

Elsewhere in the charts, Call of Duty: Black Ops II has slipped from fifth to 19th.

The Top 20 UK chart for the week ending May 25:

"...it plays a lot like the best games in the series, but lacks the scariness and intensity that made those games special..." -- This statement alone proves how ridiculous Carolyn's review is, again. Oh yes, it's as good as the classics, but wait, no, it's not as good the classics. WTF. Schizo much.

That doesnt surprise me considering people have been asking for more games like this and the most recent game like that was Zombie U which people complained was too repetitive.

The review for Resident Evil Revelations doesn't make sense, that person doesn't know what they're talking about. If you want a better review, read the review for the 3DS version.

Good to hear about Revelations. Among other things it gives us Quint and Keith, and we all know that having someone to hate fills us with energy, is good for the heart and helps us live longer.

There's a surprising number of games released around the holiday season of last year in there, anybody knows if this is a normal pattern?

Nice to see Resi back up there! I had this on the 3DS but the clunky controls put me off, so I'm gonna have to pick this up at some point. And nice to see Luigi's Mansion 2 in there... That's simply a superb game

It's worth nothing that if individual SKUs are taken into consideration, DK is actually on top, which is great.

Anyway, congrats to DK and RE. Both are excellent games.

"Resideent Evil: Revelations" is exactly where it should be; at the top! I finished the game on 3DS; now playing through it on WiiU. Picking up the PS3 version with some good ole trade fodder.

Nice that Dead Island: Riptide is still up there and I got to say, that game is so fun I can't stop smashing Zombie heads.

Gotta say glad to see Revelations doing well, maybe this would stop Capcom from ruining the whole series with crap like RE6.

Fast and Furious Showdown got to 14 despite all the bad reviews :o

I don't usually let reviews put me off but in this case I definitely moved it to my "rent first" list

@Mr_Big_Boss

Why would you take a review written by someone at gamespot seriously.  I think they give good games bad reviews to increase complaints in the comment section and show the number of comments to advertisers.

@wexorian Why do people still buy CoD? At least FIFA is fun. Not that I would buy it at 60$ a year, but still plenty of fun to play when you got friends over.

@Jonno621 There's a sport called Soccer. Apparently some people in the UK, Europe, Asia, the middle east, and South America, like it. Or so I've heard.

@Stebsis No. It still wasn't good enough. I want better. It was very bland and a lazy port. I want a genuine horror game like RE4 or back.

@cuddlyfuzzle Because it's a great game that deserves to do better?

@hatieshorrer @Mr_Big_Boss Yes because re6 was a masterpiece "survival horror michael bay produced action setpiece ftw lets not forget qte" game

@BillyColeman @Jonno621 If you like football, play it. Not my point though, my point was why are people still buying it in droves x amount of months post-release.

@heat_masheet And why it doesn't make sense at all? You don't make sense at all. I've never said everyone should like LL.I just said that it deserves to do better because it's a great game. Better than Resident Evil NUMBER XXX. in fact What's your problem?

heat_masheet
heat_masheet

@ryanreynolds You know that makes no sense at all, right? what it 'deserves'? so people don't like MLL, big deal.

@ADPrules Yes. Its the same in New Zealand. It was called "Soccer" for many years (or with our accents, "soccah") but was officially changed for NZ by our Football governing body to match the terminology used in England. We sometimes still call it "soccah" though because its hard to break the habit :)

@Lhomity

No you're wrong! Even though it's not the number 1 sport yet in Australia although it's going to be sooner or later.

It's actually called football in Australia. the governing body of FOOTBALL (soccer) is FFA in Australia which stands for Football Federation Australia.

On TV especially SBS the football people call it football not soccer unlike in the USA where they call it soccer.

The football season which has just finished this season actually was very exciting with the new team called western sydney wanderers which debuted this season won the Australian league on its first season. It was a fairytale stuff.

The supporters were arguably the most passionate and  wherever they played especially at home even away the stadium were always full or almost. The atmosphere rivals that of football played in european competition.

I think rugby league and AFL better watch out, there's a new kid in town and it's called football and it's staying for good and going to get better. even the media is taking notice.
