Ubisoft Teases Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Support for These Titles

Assassin's Creed and Far Cry publisher Ubisoft is asking fans which of its Xbox 360 games they would like to see made playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility. The Ubisoft Mexico Facebook page posted the image you see below, showing off various Assassin's Creed and Far Cry titles, as well as Driver: San Francisco, Prince of Persia, and Call of Juarez, among others.

Ubisoft captioned the image: "What Xbox 360 game from Ubisoft would you like to be compatible with the Xbox One?" Of course, there is no guarantee that the titles in the image will end up joining the Xbox One backwards compatibility program.

Ubisoft has already announced two backwards-compatible titles: Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Vegas 2. The French publisher has also teased that Splinter Cell Xbox 360 titles could come to Xbox One through backwards compatibility. In July 2015, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot praised Microsoft's decision to add backwards compatibility support for Xbox One, saying it's "good news" for gamers.

Xbox One backwards compatibility is currently available to Xbox One Preview Program members. The feature will roll out to all Xbox One owners in November, at which time there will be more than 100 available titles. The full lineup has not yet been announced, but you can check out this list to see every confirmed title so far. Just last week, Gearbox's 2009 shooter Borderlands joined the lineup.

The new backwards compatibility feature was recently cited by Microsoft's CFO, Amy Hood, as one of the reasons the Xbox One was "building momentum" in its race against the PlayStation 4.
