Ubisoft teased the next Assassin's Creed French Revolution setting back in 2010
The setting of Assassin's Creed Unity was alluded to at the end of Brotherhood. Did you register the nod at the time? We didn't.
Ubisoft has said that it peppered the Assassin's Creed series with clues as to the location of this year's title--the French Revolution--way back in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
Eurogamer spotted writer Jeffrey Yohalem talking about an ending sequence from 2010's Brotherhood, which displayed the symbols Phrygian Cap, which is associated with the French Revolution, and the masonic Eye of Providence, which referred to the North American setting of Assassin's Creed III.
"The symbols pointed to American Revolution and French Revolution," said Yohalem.
Ubisoft confirmed Assassin's Creed Unity last week after its existence was leaked online.
Yohalem was the lead writer on Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, and later went on to work on the scripts for Far Cry 3 and the upcoming Child of Light.
