Ubisoft signs Gates of Discord for Europe

Ubisoft today announced that is has signed an exclusive agreement with Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) to publish EverQuest: Gates of Discord in Europe. The expansion pack, which arrives in North American stores today, is scheduled for release in Europe on February 12.

"Ubisoft is aware that new EverQuest expansions are always eagerly awaited by the fan community," said Florence Alibert, EMEA marketing director at Ubisoft. "We have worked closely with SOE to shorten the delays, and the result is that, for the first time, we will be able to release this new EQ expansion within three days only--after the US."

"Sony Online and Ubisoft have been working hard to bring our EverQuest expansions to European players as quickly as possible," added Mike Lustenberger, director of marketing, Sony Online Entertainment. "Our goal is to reach simultaneous worldwide launches for each new expansion, and with Gates of Discord, we're almost there."

Gates of Discord adds a number of new features to the EverQuest massively multiplayer online role-playing game, including 20 new zones to explore, dozens of new story-driven quests, and a playable berserker class. Other gameplay enhancements include 100 new alternate advancement abilities, new leadership skills and abilities, 20 all-new nonplayer character models, a new tribute system, and new trade skill recipes for producing hundreds of new items.
