French publisher Ubisoft has announced three games for Nintendo's DS handheld. The games will join Ubisoft DS efforts such as Sprung and Asphalt: Urban GT, both currently on store shelves.

A portable version of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory will hit the DS "later this year," according to Ubisoft. The game will be the first appearance of the popular franchise--based on novelist Tom Clancy's writings--on the DS. Chaos Theory will be released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC in March.

Supersized simian King Kong will smash onto the DS this holiday season. No details have emerged from the development jungle yet, but the game will be based on Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson's upcoming film, due in theaters December 14. Ubisoft will also bring the great ape to the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PC, and Game Boy Advance.

Ubisoft today also announced that it will be publishing Hudson Soft's Bomberman this summer. The game is the first DS version of the long-running Bomberman series, and it will deliver single and wireless multiplayer explosive action and feature voice-recognition support.

GameSpot will have more information on the DS versions of King Kong and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory soon. For more details on Bomberman, check out its previous coverage.
