Ubisoft announces free DLC for Splinter Cell: Conviction

Publisher promises weekly updates for its newly released spy thriller; including new maps and skins.

by

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction has been out for less than a day now, but that hasn't stopped game creator Ubisoft from announcing that it plans to continue supporting the title with ongoing free downloadable content. The first piece of DLC to hit the virtual marketplace is a weapon upgrade in the MP7A1 machine pistol.

While Ubisoft didn't revealed how long it plans to continue releasing free DLC for the title, the publisher announced via a press release that additional skins, weapons, and a new map for Deniable Ops would be included among the free goodies. The content is currently only available to Xbox 360 owners and will be accessible via the game's "Extras" in the main menu.

I wish they would try to create a Upsilon vs. Spy for this. I think we all know that the sale's and rating would most definetly go up.. However, this game is more than good..its gggggggreat

nice, unlike some other downloadable content for $7 or $15...*cough cough* Bioware/Infinity Ward *cough cough*, of course the chargeable DLC will probably come soon enough

Dope. I like that Ubisoft is supporting this game with free DLC. I am a fiend for DLC, so I will appreciate every appetizing morsel.

I don't see the bloody point of pushing the PC version back two weeks.

Sweet! I can't wait to pick this up tomorrow, and news like this makes the games release even sweeter, I hope they do some premium dlc to support the campaigns as well though.

They are just trying to clean up their DRM mess. They lost a lot of customers on the PC front and they just want to make it up again this way. Doesn't work for me though.
