Crave Entertainment has been busy over the past two days, announcing a pair of very different games for very different platforms. The Newport Beach, California-based publisher unveiled details on Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT 2 for the PlayStation 2 and Purr Pals for the DS.

The follow-up to last April's drift-racing game from developer Genki, DRIFT 2 will feature more than 180 cars from 16 manufacturers, and each car can be tweaked to suit individual racers' styles. Gamers will navigate both off-road rally courses as well as twisting tracks in the mountains of Japan as they try to become the best drift racer in the country.

Those who think the DS is for more than the dogs can cuddle up to Purr Pals, a pet simulator featuring felines. After selecting a cat from one of 40 breeds, gamers will care for their new furry friends, compete in minigames, and buy accessories and toys to keep the cat entertained. The game will also make use of the DS's microphone a la Nintendogs.

Tokyo Xtreme Racer DRIFT 2 is scheduled to hit stores in April for $19.99. Purr Pals is slated for a late-March release, and will retail for $29.99.
