Twin Peaks Season 3 Cast List Has a Problem: One Member Died Last Year

The Log Lady actress was announced to return to Twin Peaks, but she died last year.

Twin Peaks' cast for Season 3 was announced this week, but the massive list seems to have one problem: Catherine E. Coulson, the Log Lady actress, passed away last year.

The Wrap reports rumors that director David Lynch shot scenes with Coulson before she died, though this has not been confirmed and Showtime PR declined to comment. Additionally, Coulson's agent doesn't admit to knowing anything, either.

"It's all a mystery," agent Mary Dangerfield said. "This is David Lynch. If there were ever a director that would surprise you, it would be him."

This isn't the only unusual thing to happen around the production. Lynch was set to direct the show from the beginning, though backed out when he said Showtime wouldn't put in the money he wanted. He returned to the director's chair last year and the third season of Twin Peaks is now set to premiere in early 2017.

The first two Twin Peaks seasons aired from 1990-91. The third season will feature the likes of Michael Cera, Jim Belushi, and Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor, in addition to returning actors such as Kyle MacLachlan, Ray Wise, and Sherilyn Fenn. You can see the full cast list through here.
