Take-Two Interactive subsidiary Gathering of Developers has announced that Tropico: Mucho Macho Edition, its island management game compilation, has shipped and will soon be available in stores. The compilation includes the original Tropico game along with the Tropico: Paradise Island expansion pack and more than two hours of award-winning Latin music. The special edition also includes 12 new scenarios, a digital version of the official strategy guide, and a behind-the-scenes video that depicts the making of the game.

Tropico was released in April 2001. The game was created by PopTop Software, the Missouri-based studio that developed the popular railroad simulation Railroad Tycoon II. In Tropico, players control a small island nation in the Caribbean, and they must manage the economic, social, political, and military elements of the country. In February 2002, Take-Two released the Paradise Island expansion, which adds more than 20 new scenarios and a variety of other features to the game, and the publisher plans to release a sequel, Tropico 2: Pirate Cove, early next year.
