Eidos Interactive has announced that its latest economic strategy game, Trade Empires, has gone gold and will soon ship to stores. To celebrate the completion of the game, the company released a new group of screenshots showing off some of the different maps, units, and structures that will appear in the game.

Trade Empires gives players control of a small caravan during ancient times. The goal is to build a vast transport and trade network that spans the world over the course of thousands of years. As new technology is developed, players discover additional products to trade and new ways to transport those products. The game includes 15 episodes, each of which covers a specific time period, and it features more than 200 units and structures on detailed 3D maps.

Trade Empires was created by San Francisco-based Frog City Software, the studio that created the Imperialism series, and it will be available the week of September 17 for an approximate retail price of $39.95. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
