Fans of Tecmo's Dead or Alive Ultimate for the Xbox may want to brandish their skills for a chance at a Southern California vacation. Tecmo and Xbox Live have announced an online Dead or Alive Ultimate tournament beginning next week. The competition will be open to North American residents with a copy of Dead or Alive Ultimate for the Xbox as well as those with Xbox Live access.

Gamers will get one chance to beat a member of Tecmo's esteemed Team Ninja development group in round one of the tournament. Beginning February 21, gamers will be able to log into specific tournament gaming sessions for their one chance to beat a mystery opponent and advance to round two.

Round two will be a random bracket format to find the top two DOAU players in North America. These two winners, along with six others from different regions, will win a prize package to the 2005 Electronic Entertainment Expo in LA. Complete details on the tournament and prizes will be announced later this week.
