Titus has released new information on and several screenshots from its next-generation Top Gun game. The flight combat game will be based loosely on the Paramount Pictures film--it will feature the characters Maverick, Jester, Iceman, and Viper--but it will also include several extras such as new locations and missions. In addition to locations based on the film, the game will include new areas in settings such as Southeast Asia, the Gulf Coast, and Northern Russia. A wide variety of US Navy fighters will also be available in the game, including the F-14 Tomcat, the F-18 Hornet, and the F-22 Raptor.
The game's missions, which range from simple pursuit missions to more complex target-based objectives, are set in three different military eras. They are the early 1970s, the 1980s, and 1998-2000. These missions can be accessed through six different modes of play.
A release date for Top Gun has not been announced at this time. Versions on other unannounced platforms are also in development.
