Too Human pulled from Xbox Marketplace

[UPDATE] Silicon Knights' Xbox 360-exclusive and associated content no longer available to purchase; Microsoft confirms game pulled due to recall notice.

[UPDATE] Following the publication of this story, Microsoft confirmed that Too Human had been pulled from Xbox Marketplace due to a recall notice from Silicon Knights.

“Microsoft received a Recall Notice from Silicon Knights for Too Human, and we have removed the game from Xbox LIVE Marketplace accordingly," the statement reads. "We have no comment regarding, nor involvement with the case between Silicon Knights and Epic.”

The original story follows below

Silicon Knights' 2008 Xbox 360-exclusive Too Human along with its associated digital content have vanished from the Xbox Marketplace (via Eurogamer).

Too Human's product page is still visible, but the game is no longer available to download from the Games on Demand service. In addition, the game's demo, themes, videos, and other pieces of content are missing.

A Microsoft representative had not returned comment at press time.

A 2012 court ruling ordered Silicon Knights to cease producing or distributing all its games using Epic Games' Unreal Engine, which includes Too Human. It is not clear if the game's disappearance from Xbox Live is in any way connected to this.

Like they did with AD&D games from Steam. Typical (but annoying) marketing move...

Everyone hated this generic slash fest, and now according to the comments everyone loves it and wants it back. Anything to hate on Microsoft and other big scary corporations eh?

Man, the internet loves to hate on this game. It was a decent game and it's a shame we won't be seeing a sequel... at least it doesn't look like it...

Glad I have a hard copy of this game.  Being one of my favourtie games ever, I would be choked if it was unavailable to me.  Maybe someone will buy the IP and make a sequal? I'm sure SK could use the cash!

I felt the game was just terrible, hard to follow, hard to play. And everytime the story got the least bit interesting they would jerk you right out with some lame cliche or gameplay issue that frustrates.

I was about to say, a little late to be embarrassed....

If I were you guys - I'd pick up a good copy(s) of this game.  Based on this controversy alone, it'll skyrocket in value.

Mark my words.

Good game or not gentlemen, that's exactly why I ALWAYS prefer a hard copy of a game rather than a digital one.

Man that sucks. I don't care how good or bad the game is but not being able to get it ever again sucks. This online crap and being able to pull it whenever you want it irritating.

why do ps3n fanboys always spend so much time hating on 360? I own both and most of the time my ps3 collects dust. The entire exp is better on x box

I have no idea what this news story is about. Some context might be a good idea in the future.

I bought it at Gamestop when I heard of the termination of any more copies of Too Human.  It's not that bad for around 5 dollars. >_<

They should just make Eternal Darkness 2 and act like Too Human never happened.

I'm guessing EB doesn't have to recall the used games as I saw 6 for sale today.

It had some good concepts, but was mostly just long, boring, and repetitive.

This game would of been awesome if you didn't have to spend 3 hours watching a death and respawn sequence of your character every time you died.

LOVED how they did the art and models (I like the futuristic armour), but apparently wasn't a good enough game to buy...

Recalled and disposed of/destroyed? Wow can't remember this ever having happened to a game developer before.

@Jhedan agree - I also feel that any digital copy once purchased has zero value afterward.

You cannot give it away, share it with family, trade, and sell it if you do not like it or would like to use that game to help purchase something new.

But I have no problem buying a digital copy - I do however weigh in factors of that purchase like -

PRO the convenience, instant gratification, and that a digital copy will be good forever as long as the company supports it (and does not start charging fees to port from one console to the next, which will happen) Also things like new features, value, etc.

But I also take negative things into account about digital purchases like those  above and of course tons of restrictions.

@Dirk_McHardpeck It's called a rewritten press release. I'm a journalist, and my editors make me do this all the time. "Get something up, NOW!" is usually what you hear from said superior.

@mrsniper83 Pfff...there's no way you even played this game.  I bet that 90%% per cent of people that 'hated this game'  never even played it.  There are quite a few respected game sites that give this game the a good rating.

Sevenizz

@mrsniper83 If you think this is 'the worst game ever made', then you must be a new gamer.  There are way worse games out there.
