Activision announced on Monday that it has shipped Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the PlayStation. The game features ten top-ranked skaters and challenges gamers to work their way up the ranks by competing to become the highest-ranked skater.
"Skateboarding is one of the fastest-growing sports, boasting more than nine million enthusiasts in the United States alone,'' said Mitch Lasky, executive vice president of Activision Studios. "This is the first game that lets both skateboarding fans and novices alike pull off hundreds of tricks and moves in realistic environments.''
Developed by Neversoft Entertainment, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater will sell at a suggested retail price of US$49.95.
