Activision has announced that it will release Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, the next game in the popular skateboarding series. The game is being developed for the PC as well as the Sony PlayStation2, the Microsoft Xbox, the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, the Sony PlayStation, and the Nintendo Game Boy Color. Although no official release date was given, the company did state that the game will feature technical advancements over the previous games. Some of the locations that will be featured in the game include Skater's Island in Middleton, Rhode Island, Rio, Los Angeles, Canada, Tokyo and Paris. Players will have access to hundreds of combo moves such as nollies, manuals, and lip tricks. In addition to the skate park and ramp environments, the game will also let players compete in realistic urban settings, complete with pedestrians, cars, and changing weather conditions.
Several skateboarding pros will be featured in the upcoming game, including old favorites like Steve Caballero, Rune Glifberg, Eric Koston, Bucky Lasek, Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska, Andrew Reynolds, Geoff Rowley, Elissa Steamer, and Jamie Thomas, and the new addition to the team, Bam Margera of "MTV Jackass" fame. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 will also add new multiplayer options.
