Tony Hawk Teases New Game With Real-Life "Select Your Character" Parody

Legendary skateboarder releases funny video on Instagram.

In a funny Instagram video, legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk offered the latest tease for his upcoming game with Activision. He enlisted his skater pal Rob Wootton to act out the "select your character" animations from past Tony Hawk Pro Skater games. He even uses a song from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2.

"Select your character (by @rob.wootton)," Hawk wrote as a caption. "I am sharing this now in honor of our next game having been accidentally 'leaked' recently...THPS fans will rejoice. Details soon."

The "leak" mentioned in the caption is likely a reference to a promotional event for the game earlier this month. Hawk's caterer released a photo from inside the venue that revealed "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5" as the name of the upcoming skateboarding game, according to Polygon.

The new Tony Hawk game was announced in November 2014. It's in development for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and is due to launch later this year. As Hawk himself says, more details about the game are set to be announced "soon." We still don't know much about it, other than that it might include hoverboards.

Activision is not only reviving the Tony Hawk franchise this year, but also Guitar Hero. The next entry in the music game series, Guitar Hero Live, will be released this fall for all major home consoles.
