Titanfall for Xbox 360 "coming along really well"

Producer tells fans not to worry about upcoming Xbox 360 version of multiplayer shooter.

by

Development on the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall--handled not by Respawn Entertainment but rather external studio Bluepoint Games--is progressing well, producer Drew McCoy explained in a NeoGAF forum post.

"Oh, and for all the speculation going on about the 360 version. It's coming along really well. Bluepoint is full of phenomenally talented devs," McCoy said.

Titanfall for the Xbox 360 launches on March 25, two weeks after the game debuts on March 11 for the Xbox One and PC. McCoy acknowledged that Respawn wanted the Xbox 360 version to be available alongside the others, but the team wasn't willing to compromise on quality to do so.

"We (being Respawn) have been pushing for them to have all the time they need to make it as good as possible, which means extra time for them to polish it up," he said. "We'd all like it to be day and date, but a better game a few weeks later is better than an unfinished one earlier."

The beta for Titanfall (held on the Xbox One and PC) ended today, but our coverage of the game is just heating up. For more on the game, be sure to check out our newly launched The Next Big Game: Titanfall feature.

I'm not buying it.

Its all a case of "Tell don't show" here. They'll try anything to sell this version of the game for those who don't have an Xb1 or a PC thats powerful enough to run the game.

The lack of promotional material is a Red Flag to make me think the 360 version is going to suck.

Also does this mean i get Titan Fall in 1080p??????? lol i won't be getting it seems like the last little push from microsoft for their 360.

If they show that the 360 version of the game looks about the same as the Xbox One version, will that hurt Xbox One console sales? I just got a PS4 last weekend and loving it, but I'm not going to lie, when I heard they were making this for the 360 as well I was pretty stoked and I'm not even into FPS games.

Well since we humans have found almost every & any reason to fight and argue, I'd like to take this time to wish all the best for the Xbox 360 version, so the players of that system can enjoy what I experienced to be a fun game.

Ok...but where's the gameplay? Or screenshots? Respawn's secrecy is becoming more annoying than endearing. I want to trust you to make a good game but you haven't won me with words alone. I'll like to know what I'm buying, surely that's reasonable.

Poor Titanfall 360. Its in kind of a no-win situation. If it doesn't stand up well to the PC and X1 versions, it will be ridiculed. If it does stand up well to them, it will be accused of "holding back" the other versions. I don't envy this team.

Finally, an article about Titanfall on 360! I have a ps4 (NOT HATING ON XB1), and a 360. An xb1 just isn't in the budget this year. But I keep getting excited when I remember that I can play Titanfall on my 360. I just wonder how many people will be doing the same? Also, does anybody know if the gameplay will be cross platform, meaning 360 players playing with/against xb1 players?

If I didn't know any better I'd have thought I was already playing the 360 version.

We do seem to get hourly updates on this game for some reason.

I don't doubt this one bit. There is NOTHING "next-gen" about the XBO version of Titanfall (I played both PC and XBO versions). The X360 should look VERY similar to the XBO version.

This is the reason why the X360 is being delayed (thank MSFT for that, the only ones in the losing end of the deal).

well i hope so cuz this is probably the version im going to get. i cant see myself paying over $600 just for one game...maybe 2 if quantum break releases this year.

X360 Gold Subscribers should rejoice. TitanFall is not made as a true XB1 experience since it had to be developed with X360 in the back of their minds.  Personally even as the game moves forward EA's milking strategy and TF hard coding will still have some of the port code as it's skeletal system.

Don't let the 2 Teams fool you. Respawn always had full control and last words. The added 2 wks given to Blueprint really won't do much once hard coded but could be used for finishing touches or quite possibly go by the speculated rumor you XB owners have said.

One thing for sure TF is MS most anticipated Title in 2014, but So was Den VS Sea Superbowl and we all know how that turned out.  LOL

Why do we keep seeing them telling people "not to worry" about the game?  I'm not sure I've ever seen a developer trying so hard to keep their hype train on the rails.

Could it be that there is actually something to worry about?

Translation-----There is no visual difference between the Xbox one and Xbox 360 version hence why we never show you guys any gameplay of the 360 version because we want you to think that Xbox One version is the best cause we desperately need you to buy the console.

Tell me it's not strange that the 360 version of Titanfall has not seen in public. A game that goes on sale in a month from now has never been showed publicly . The xBoned720 and the 360 version are going to look identical. XBoned720 Will has slightly better resolution and frame rates . Titanfail is not a system seller because it available for 360 and PC also it will look the same on 360. Michael Pachter said that Titanfall is not a system seller because it on 360 and PC.

Fear not, kids! Fact - Respawn began making Titanfall for 360 before the Xbox One was even announced. Unless they do something really stupid, the 360 version will be the exact same game. The Xbox One version will just have cleaner graphics.

Ask yourself, is that worth a $500 new console buy to you? Plus, they know the 360 version has to be good, as most people will be playing on the 360. Cause close to 79 million people own 360s, compared to the wee 3 million that bought an Xbox Ones. And they want those 79 million to come back for Titanfall 2 and to buy Xbox Ones in the future. Just hold your water for 2 more weeks and don't pay $560 for a single game, that will be just as good on the console you already have. You can do it :).

Good vibes to you Bluepoint! Everybody's counting on you. No pressure. Ha, ha.

I enjoyed the Beta, found it addicting..., I'm looking for a really good 1st person shooter, haven't played a good one since MW3. I wonder if they will sell the game for both systems for $69($10 upgrade)? Like they did with BF4, COD:Ghost, AC:BF, etc, Doesn't look like is, as of now. I still have players who haven't jumped over to the X1. On a side note with the 6v6 roster you shouldn't have a hard time jumping in a party of all friends and playing.

"We (being Respawn) have managed to reach perfect parity between the Xbox 360 and the Xbox one.  For this reason, we have delayed the xbox 360 launch date."

I don't think Microsoft is going to happy they said that.

The 360 version will look almost identical to the X1 version. There's a reason they don't post screenshots of the 360, that would be bad for selling X1. Respawn began developing for the 360 before going for the X1, they simply handled the game to BluePoint while they finalized the game for next-gen. There won't be a huge difference.

Shocking.

And for better or for worse, they also weren't willing to delay the other versions so they could release together. Waiting for it to hit Redbox. No matter what they tell us, seeing it release a few weeks later gives the overall impression that the 360 version is an afterthought.

I think that this copy of the game will sell the most.

Nightflash28

I don't think it's so much about  Bluepoint needing more time, it's more about having the game to release on Xbox One first to give people a reason to go and pick up the console. If you could buy it on the 360 on the same day with about the same performance (I honestly doubt there will be much of a difference), why upgrade to the One?
MS are so heavily pushingTitanfall as a reason to buy an Xbox One, they'd just shoot themselves in the foot if they allowed a simultaneous release on the 360.

We all know they are just holding back the 360 version in the hope they might force people to pick up an X1 with Titanfall.

@XNEXUS666X  @RyogaRod I'm not hear to troll

but If you think about it the copy for the 360 will be a wast of money eventually they will shut down 360 servers in 2016 and seeing it's only a multiplayer game leaves it useless after the servers go off line.

Look at what Microsoft did to the original xbox and original live service they beat it and pushed it away like a red headed step child to just boost sales of the 360....wouldn't surprise me if people bought more copies of Titan Fall for the 360.

teller76567

@hadlee73  No the 360 can do 1080p maybe not 60fps but it will show the lack of power out put is for the xbox one

Actually, you will soon find out that the X360 version of Titanfall, looks almost identical to the XBO version. The difference will be similar to MGSV XBO vs X360/PS3. In other words, very minimal.

@MAL1C3_Inc  Microsoft claimed this was in their plans way way back but like most of their fluff, not gonna happen. My big issue with Titanfall (still undecided) is if I decide to get it, it will be on PC. I only game on my big screen in the theater room using a wireless 360 controller. I don't expect my chances of survival to be all that great and it's won't be all that much fun.

g0ldenpr0pet
g0ldenpr0pet

XBO version? Yup. Pretty much the same thing.

@g0ldenpr0pet I was surprised by the lacking of "next/now gen" graphics on my PC too. Luckily the gameplay is so damn good I couldn't care less about the graphics.

youngtusk

@Thanatos2k Actually, I think the Beta only being for XBO and PC inadvertently made 360 owners nervous. A few of my friends perceived it as not being released on 360 at all until I reassured them it will be.

@Thanatos2k  No,there's nothing to worry about. Don't worry. It will be ok, trust them.

@Cerulean7 It's actually 600$ for the game on Xbone. you forgot about tax. I keep forgetting I can buy this game on my 360. lol  I can't stand Call of Duty though, so probably not.

They are still finalizing the other two versions and another studio is handling the 360 version, so it makes sense to me that it might be a tad behind.  If it was more than 2 weeks I might be worried.

JusticeSoulTuna

@parabol699 Well, I think i should have specified that i meant their general secrecy. News regarding the 360 version, story details, info on maps, weapons etc. I've found out 90% of my info of TF from outside sources and rarely from Respawn themselves. I'd just like solid info from them to feel confident in my purchase. I've rode a lot of hype trains man, I need to be sure, haha.

PJDSouza
PJDSouza

@wookiegr  Speaking of chances of survival, I never played CS or COD much for that very same reason but I've played this on PC, with a mouse and keyboard and it's surprisingly easy for a noob to get into. I have been on top of the lobby tables all day. That said I probably won't expect that if you're using a controller against people playing with mouse and keyboard.

teller76567
teller76567

@g0ldenpr0pet  Lol the 360 is able to put out 1080p maybe not 60fps but will show the power difference in the 360 and the xbox one.

So many people are going to rage over it i can already seeing it happen

@mattress805  I like this WAY more than I ever liked COD. Kinda hated COD, as a matter of fact.

TwinStripeUK

@JusticeSoulTuna @parabol69Not really Respawn's secrecy, more Bluepoint's - mind you, given their conversion record in the past, I doubt there's anything to be concerned about.

youngtusk

@PJDSouza I played the PC Beta with a Gamepad and I was consistently top 3. Granted, most of the beta players didn't get a good grasp on wall running and chaining wall runs to go super sonic speeds, so once the game drops and people earn how to actually play it, that might change.
