Titanfall DLC gets its first gameplay trailer

Check out the Expedition expansion's three new maps in action ahead of release later this month, coming first to Xbox One and PC.

Electronic Arts today released the first gameplay trailer for Titanfall's upcoming expansion, Expedition. We've seen still images before, but the two-and-a-half-minute trailer gives us a first look at how the expansion's three new maps (Swampland, Runoff, and War Games) actually play.

Expedition launches for Xbox One and PC later this month (we're still waiting on a specific release date), while Xbox 360 owners will have to wait until June to play the new maps. The expansion is free with the $25 Titanfall DLC pass, or you can buy it separately for $10.

There are two more Titanfall expansions on the way, though EA hasn't said anything about what these are or when they will be delivered. New game modes are also coming to the game, though those will be free for all players.

In addition to more Titanfall DLC, publisher Electronic Arts announced last week that it had reached an agreement with developer Respawn Entertainment for more Titanfall "experiences." It's unknown if these future "experiences" will remain exclusive to Xbox on consoles.

Let me know when it gets a single player mode and an actual story.

The new maps look cool and everything, but that's not what Titanfall needs. It already has a solid diversity of maps but unless they include a new set of weapons and gear, my money stays with me.

I just can't get over the fact how FUGLY this game is no matter what platform you are playing on.... Ah well cross-gen games.

I bought it for PC at release although I do have a One (and PS4) because PC Master Race... I'm kidding. Anyway, coming from the Battlefield series (I absolutely loathe CoD), I don't think I gave it a fair shake at first. I fiddled with it for two days at release..said, "CoD with robots"...then pretty much stopped playing. Got bored two weeks ago and decided to fire it up again and really started to get into it. Now I play pretty much every day that time permits. I think my "terribleness" at playing it made me rush to judgment. Really my only major complaint is the maps, coming from Battlefield they feel horribly claustrophobic and would be more at home in CoD 2099 or some such... the cramped confines feel much less "tactical" and much more "I just smoked meth and drank a 2 liter Mountain Dew." Give us some larger maps that'll get teams actually talking to each other and working together instead of nomnomnom xp! Some people aren't geared toward that style, I certainly wasn't. Minor gripe(s), add more kit customization (more weapons, both pilot and titan..maybe some more chassis). All things considered I'm glad I gave it another shot. I'm enjoying it.

"The expansion is free with the $25 Titanfall DLC pass," This doesn't make any sense, it's like I'm paying 25 dollars for absolutely nothing, but they give me a bonus for it.

The expansion is NOT free.  That's what the $25 Titanfall DLC Pass is paying for.

Runoff and Wargames looks pretty good. Still kinda wish they would put a new Titan Class.

New Titanfall content is a good thing. Since it will most likely win GotY on most non hipster siter.

Sorry GS - I fully expect you to give Child of Light the nod.

Personally, I've all but stopped playing titanfall. Wont be buying any map packs unless they come up with something really cool.

Why haven't they posted the release date yet.  I mean for goodness sake we are almost halfway in the month.  I think it's ok to throw a date out by now.  Just saying.

@coldreboot  If you play more, there is plenty of people that talk as a team so it can definitely get really tactical if both teams are decent, the whole cramped thing is you, I can understand how you base it, but remember it was built around parkour: being able to get from point A to B in a quick, efficient amount of time, so it is a way more fast paced experience than something like Battlefield. I've played CoD plenty (guiltily) and I seriously see no comparison in gameplay mechanics whatsoever, and even if I did it was in fairness made by a group of people that worked on the CoD games. I do think it could use more in the customization department, but given that it's only the first game in the series, I feel completely satisfied with the amount of content on the OG game.

People that give this game low scores and so much hate are just people who played a half hour of the beta, or never played it at all. It's not perfect, but it's an experience you won't find altogether in any other game.

@Sevenizz  Yeah because of all the games to come out in 2014, Child of Light is the best one....

@tableofjapan  You don't know the definition of Disk Locked Content.

This wasn't on the disc. It was developed after the game released.

@EasyComeEasyGo  If they are going to have a $10 expansion they should have more maps, unless they also added new weapons or skins or something (which they didn't).

I thinks myself and a few million others disagree.

@EasyComeEasyGo  That's such a garbage argument "the fact is that it's a EA game which is just a Icing on the cake." EA didn't invent, develop, and update the game and saying that just because they published it makes it less worthy of a game makes you look like every other snoddy consumer that wants more than people can give them.

XBone4DaWin

@EasyComeEasyGo  Fair enough. I love the game but I admit it needs more guns and game modes. It has more than enough maps. It just needs more weapons and game modes.

EasyComeEasyGo

A 7/10 at most. I play the PC beta back then and I find it overhype and the fact is that it's a EA game which is just a Icing on the cake.
