Titanfall dev teasing beta?
[UPDATE]Announcement is for release date.
[UPDATE] Today's Titanfall announcement was not for a beta, but rather the game's release date: March 11, 2014.
The original story is below.
Respawn Entertainment may announce a beta for its upcoming online shooter Titanfall today, according to a recent tweet from the game's official Twitter account.
"Be the First to Fall into Titanfall! Check back tomorrow for a special announcement," Respawn wrote last night, meaning the announcement is on for today, October 22.
Last month, Respawn warned of Titanfall beta scams, after several third-party websites claimed to have access to a beta for the game.
If there is indeed a multiplayer beta for Titanfall, it won't be the first time the public will get a chance to try the new game. Respawn has traveled the world showing off Titanfall at various events, including Gamescom (Germany), PAX Prime (United States), Tokyo Game Show (Japan), and the EB Games Expo (Australia), among others.
Titanfall is a multiplayer-only first-person shooter created by numerous former Call of Duty developers, including Infinity Ward cofounder Vince Zampella.
The game launches in 2014 for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
