Titanfall could come to Mac from BioShock Infinite studio Aspyr

Respawn cofounder Vince Zampella says he wants BioShock Infinite and Borderlands 2 port developer Aspyr to bring the game to Mac.

Respawn Entertainment's multiplayer shooter Titanfall is never coming to PlayStation or Nintendo platforms, but it could come to Mac. Studio cofounder Vince Zampella said on Twitter that Respawn is currently in talks with noted port studio Aspyr about bringing the game to Mac.

"They should do it," Zampella said.

Aspyr is a prolific and experience Mac developer. They most recently released the Mac version of BioShock Infinite, and before that they shipped Borderlands 2 for Apple computers. The studio's long list of Mac port jobs also includes various Call of Duty, Civilization, and Duke Nukem games.

Titanfall launched March 11 in North America for Xbox One and PC. The Xbox 360 version--developed externally by Bluepoint Games--will be released on March 25. For more on Titanfall, check out GameSpot's review.

lol so much for being an ms exclusive, yet another platform it is probably going to be available for making xbox one seem even less worth buying.

What kind of graphics go into Macs these days?  Something equivalent to Intel graphics?

That would be cool.  What I really need though is more light-weight pc games that my Macbook Pro can handle, that can be played offline.  Shadowrun is awesome on a Macbook for example.

But Mac is Apple not Microsoft, how does that get beyond the exclusivity agreement?

@keyb0red  Halo was on the Mac before it was purchased by Microsoft. Bungie got their start making Mac FPS games. Just saying.

@Aelfredus  You'd think that, but all 3 refuse to use Origin, so this move will profit exactly 0 gamers.

@hoyholyhoy is this the typical PS4 owner? A whiney emo kid playing the victim, just man up and build a PC.

@Aaronp2k Not with all the other exclusive games coming out for the system.

@ggregd nope, either Nvidia or ATI chipsets. Intel graphics only onboard for those "non-gamers" Mac users, usually it ships with both onboard and a PCI-e card as well.

@nbf4548  macbook pro can handle a lot more than most people expect. I can play skyrim on this macbook pro which is only an early 2011 model 15". I also play skyrim with mods and medium details with the bethesda hi res dlc's and I get very stable frame rates and looks much better than ps3 graphics. It is a lot better than most laptops on the market despite being from 2011.

They are trying to port to Windows for Mac not OSx

@kingcrimson24  I don't use it primarily for gaming but my macbook pro with 16 gb ram handles the few games I have extremely well.

@blackace @Aaronp2k  but all the other exclusives suck as well as titan fall. forza is good but really its no better than any other racing game. a racing game is just a racing game at the end of the day. you have your realistic one's like forza, gran turismo and of course drive club when it is released. and then you have your unrealistic ones like need for speed and burnout.

titan fall is for noobs and children, not hardcore gamers. so far I have seen literally no reason to buy an xbox one other than the tv and kinect gimmick which most gamers including myself do not care about. this is why ps4 is dominating. you can argue all you like, but the sales facts pretty much back me up on this.

Aaronp2k

@Blazen702  you are the idiot. bootcamp can play any windows games, there is no such thing as windows for mac. you boot windows on a mac system using bootcamp and can play windows games, there is no porting required. newer mac systems use intel x64 architecture so that is why it is able to dual boot windows os completely separate from the mac os. the port will run in mac os and not require windows to boot.

Aaronp2k

@Ahiru-San @ggregd  mac pro doesn't, has physical gpu and you can pick what you want. you are referring to iMacs (which are imo pointless, because they are the same as MacBooks but less portable) and MacBooks.

@pyro1245 @ramyland some mature subjects like the use of sex imagery in video games , more boobs etc :) just kiding

@Blazen702  windows for mac?

if you mean bootcamp I can play any game for windows on it, even if it does not have mac support. I do it natively also, no virtualisation at all. I could play titan fall right now through bootcamp if I wanted to. they are talking about osx, otherwise what would be the point since you can play any game on bootcamp anyway.

Blazen702
Blazen702

Yes there is. It's exclusive to Microsoft and the true story here is that it's windows for Mac that they trying to port to.

woodyfr

@Blazen702  Are you serious? OS X is the operating system for Mac computers not Windows. If you want to play on Windows (on a Mac or other PC) you buy the PC version.
