With March being proclaimed as Red Cross Month across the United States, Xfire and Tiltify are working with the humanitarian organization to throw a League of Legennds tournament to benefit the cause. The top 4 teams will share a prize purse that includes over 100,000 RP, with the winning team earning a a paid for trip to watch the North American LCS live from LCS studios, April 4th to 6th.

The entry fee is $24 per team, with all the proceeds going towards the Red Cross. "$20 goes directly to the American Red Cross through our secure WEPAY payment system", says the official tournament site. "$4 is used to pay ALL the processing transaction fee's so that we GUARANTEE the full $20 of each entry makes it to the American Red Cross."

“With the full Tiltify platform launching in June to help gamers create charitable online events of all kinds, we are thrilled to work with Xfire to be able to run an early event for Red Cross Month", Tiltify CEO Michael Wasserman tells onGamers. "We are all huge League of Legends fans so we wanted to design a fun and exciting event around LoL that could give back for a great cause. Winning a team trip to the NA LCS in Los Angeles was one of the most fun experiences we could think of. We are also running a 50 hour gameathon on our Twitch channel during the tournament to raise additional funds for the Red Cross and have been so lucky to have Malfusx get involved to shoutcast for us and some great surprises during the broadcast.”

“Our company is based on the concept of bringing charity into gaming and esports. For us, it’s no different than having a charity boxing match or basketball game. Esports has now grown to such an exciting point and is connecting people around the world. With the technology now available to participate and view these events, blended with some amazing gameplay and dramatic shoutcasters, we see huge opportunities to make real impact for charities. Our hope is to work all these great publishers and major tournaments to create charitable elements that draw in an even larger audience and allow us to all have fun while accomplishing some much needed charitable projects.”

Tiltify will be using the Xfire platform to host the event, which will be launching into open beta in the next few weeks.

"Our goal is to power the next generation of eSports and to become the central hub where players come to compete, much like Twitch is the central hub for players to watch game streams", Xfire CEO Mark Donovan tells onGamers.

"We're very excited about our event with Tiltify because it will be the first public showcase of our automated tournament platform. This system captures all of the scores from every match in a tournament and displays them in real-time on our website. We believe that automation will be the key to scaling eSports events and bringing them to a wider audience and we're looking forward to showing the world what we've spent the past two years building. We're happy that we can help support such a worthy cause and organization and are looking forward to the action!"

The two day event will be held on March 28th and March 29th, broadcasted by Alex 'MalfusX' Manley. A step-by-step guide to signing up for the event can be seen here.
