Sierra today announced that it is looking for qualified players to test the multiplayer mode in its upcoming role-playing game Throne of Darkness. The beta test will begin on September 9 and run through September 23. The test is designed to evaluate the game's ability to support a large number of simultaneous players. To this end, testers will be encouraged to play the game at least 10 hours per week, with at least five of those weekly hours taking place from 5-10pm PT. Those interested in participating in the beta test can find an application at the official Throne of Darkness beta sign-up page. Sierra will accept the first 750 qualified testers that apply.

Throne of Darkness is set in feudal Japan. Players assume control of a party of samurai warriors who all have unique abilities, and they must lead their party on an epic quest against the forces of evil. The game is in development at Click Entertainment, and it is scheduled for release at the end of September. For more information, take a look at our in-depth preview coverage of the game.
