Three original Xbox titles will be available to download via Xbox Live this month, according to listings on the service itself. Sid Meier's Pirates, Ninja Gaiden Black, and Black will all be added to the service on February 11. [UPDATE: These titles are now also confirmed as being released on the same date in the US.]

The three new games join the seven currently offered: Farenheit, Crimson Skies: High Road Revenge, Halo, Burnout 3: Takedown, Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex, Psychonauts, and Fuzion Frenzy. Xbox Originals cost 1,200 Microsoft points to download (approx. £10.20).

On December 11 last year, the UK also got its first batch of movies on Video Marketplace, including the Matrix trilogy, Swordfish, and Ocean's Eleven. As to when UK users could expect some new video content, a Microsoft spokesperson told GameSpot, "We should have some announcements soon."

None of these are particularly rare or hard to find games. I honestly question why Black is even on the list, as it's nothing spectacular. Original xbox games aren't particularly rare, which is the real reason you'd do a downloadable service for them. Get Sega to emulate some more of their back catalog instead.

Unfortiantly. Ninja Gainedn black wont be available in Australia.

Ya know, I gotta give them credit for coming out with very good games for the Originals platform, but without added features, upgrades, 360 interface integrations, or achievements, I don't care. All it is is a download of EXACTLY what is on the disc, except it cost twice as much as it'd cost at GameStop or on eBay. And you get all the glitches and problems that are in a lot of the Backward Compatibility emulations. I would be literally handing you my wallet if you gave me anything more then an emulation. Even at $15, but no, you just screwed yourselves IMO. That is very, very stupid.

I wish they would add jet Set Radio Future. That game was crazy tight! Imagine if they created a sequel for the 360? It would blow my mind!

Anyone who hasn't played Ninja Gaiden Black should download it ASAP and play the hell out of it. NGB is my favorite game of all time. You get no respect until you've at least beat HARD MODE!

PLEASE add "Phantom Dust" so people will play online MP!!!! Such an underrated awesome game.

I don't know if someone already pointed this out but the game Farenheit that was mentioned is the european name for Indigo Prophecy.

Ninja Gaiden Black is a hell of a deal compared to the price Gamestop sells it for used.

those are some nice classics for newcomers to gaming. i suggest you give black a go. its worth the cash, now. great graphics for 12 bucks as well a good array of weopans. ninja gaiden black may be to hard though unless you step up to the challenge. sid meirs pirates is a great game but its not for everyone

what the hell is up with the idiots stating facts? those aren't comments. it says both NGB and black. learn how to read. drop the controller and pick up a book.

Im gonna go with Ninja Gaiden Black seeing as I never acctually finished it. I barrowed It from a cousin and I ended up having to give it back before I finished it. And i heard in the next batch is supposed to be Jade empire so i might have to get that too cause that game is just freakin fun

I wouldn't mind downloading originals if I had more HDD space, and I only have the 20GB HDD which is really only like 11 or 12 GB out of the box, and that 120 GB HDD is like $180 and that's way to expensive. Once Microsoft gets a (much) bigger, (much) cheaper HDD out on the market, then maybe I'll think about getting these originals.

Black sounds good since I never got a chance to play it when it came out. Where's Jade Empire?

As long as they include Xbox Originals that haven't already been made available by the 360 compatibility, then I'm cool with it. Otherwise, I'm not.

For the record Ninja Gaiden Black still sells for around 20 or so dollars in the US even used. This is actually a good way of getting it. Some games are overpriced, Crash, Crimson Skies, and Burnout 3 could probably be bought for around $8. And remember, they are remaking Riddick for the 360, so that basically means its never going to be offered as a BC title or download until then or after the remakes release.

I plan to buy Pirates, I just hope it isn't too big. I don't have all that much space left on my harddrive. If it's backwards compatible, I could always just buy it on Xbox. And FearTheRain, I'm with you, dude. I never bought Riddick, unfortunately. I'd definitely buy it now.

I have all these games for the XBox, so I have no reason to get any of these games. It's still a nice option for people who were able to pick up these games when they came out for the XBox.

Black, never bought that. might get it. Though if I do it wil be a proper version. Not the download, you could probably get it cheaper that way!

I still play through Ninja Gaiden almost religiously every month. Hopefully more people will get to experience it's greatness before 2 comes out.

I'd like them to roll out MvC 2, but I've played it on the 360 already, and the emulation sucks. Like, it REALLY sucks. Maybe the Xbox equivalent Metal Gear Solid titles, Subsistence or whatever. Or maybe Morrowind. I don't know, I can't think of any titles that are difficult to find now for the Xbox that I don't already have. Oh, maybe Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. That game was incredible, though nobody played it sadly.

This is good and bad for me. I have a Brand New copy of Ninja Gaiden Black that I was planning to sell years from now (since that specific condition is rare now). Thanks to this, I probably won't get as much money as I thought I would. Oh well, at least 360 owners get a classic download.

Wow, the 20GB HDD is not the way to go anymore.

Pirates eh? Never did play that... might have to pick it up.

They need to add the Brothers In Arms games to the xbox originals. Those I would buy.

I hope they come to the US too. Ninja Gaiden would be an awesome game to have.

Hmmmm nice, hope they run smoothly & in full screen, i downloaded Fable but missing 50% of my TV screen got on my last nerve. Anyone know why all the Xbox Originals (Downloaded or Discs) seem to run in 4:3 & not widescreen?

These games show up in the US on live as coming on the 11th as well. Anyone else notice a lot more Gamespot UK articles showing up on the US site? I don't mind that happening, but it seems odd. I guess ever since Jeff was canned, my perception has been that editorial staff is waning. Probably me just being paranoid.

This is simply amazing!! Microsoft is doing something which Sony refuses to do. Namely, release some of the best previous gen games on classics list. Ninja Gaiden Black is easily one of the best games that would be available on Xbox Classics after Halo. Sony won't even release FFVII, FFVIII, or Chrono Cross for their fan's likings.

Well you can't scratch or loose a download, so There worth the money. Especially cause M$ will let you download the content on up to 3 xboxes, and you can delete and redownload the games at will.

I hope these games are coming to U.S. as well.

10.20 for a downloadable game, what a rip off. i can buy the original things off ebay for half that or even go into a game store and buy them second hand.

Actually there HAS been new video content added. When the service launched on Dec 11, there were 24 movies available to download. They've been adding to it gradually and there are now 37 available.

Gribb85

They need to add hard to get games, such as Marvel vs Capcom 2. Doing these re-releases is a good idea if you have a 120gb hd, but not if you have a 20gb. Although Pirates is awesome.

I got the actual Sid Meiers Pirates for 99p (2 bucks) in a clearance the other day, why would i buy it from XBL?! XBL originals is just a way of stealing your money because they can't be bothered to make the emulation software work properly.

Sound like some good additions. If you haven't played Sid Meyers Pirates, now is the time to act.

Damn it's a shame that only the UK gets the movie service!!! English speakers living out the UK, like me, must be pissed. But anyways NG Black is comin so that's some good news!!! Never had the chance to play it!!! Long live XBL!

I wish they'd make games that weren't on the BC list already, as I got a hard copy of most of them already

BLACK is backwards compatible with the 360. I'm sure a disk version can be found somewhere cheaper than on XBL
