THQ announced its financial numbers for the period ending March 31, 1999 on Thursday, featuring a net income of roughly US$10.1 million, a 56 percent increase over the same quarter for 1998.

Revenue also increased 62 percent at $78.5 million from nearly $48.5 million the year before.

"We are off to a great start in what we expect will be another record year for THQ," said president and CEO Brian Farrell. "Looking to the future, we are particularly excited about Road Rash for the Nintendo 64, our exclusive distribution of upcoming Star Wars: Episode One games in Germany, and bringing to market THQ's great wrestling games under the World Wrestling Federation license."
