THQ has today announced its 2004 lineup of Nickelodeon games, which includes a title based on the upcoming The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. Other popular Nickelodeon franchises on THQ's 2004 release schedule include The Fairly OddParents, Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius, and the "Nicktoons" universe, in which all of Nickelodeon's characters coexist.

"The success of our 2003 Nickelodeon releases continues with SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom taking home the win for Best Video Game at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards this past weekend," said Eric Doctorow, CEO, THQ. "We are excited about releasing the interactive version of this holiday's The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, as well as new games based on several other leading Nickelodeon properties, including Nicktoons, in 2004."

Nickelodeon titles announced today include the following:

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
Movie-inspired platform adventure game being developed by Heavy Iron Studios, the same team responsible for SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. Scheduled for release on "multiple platforms" this fall.

The Fairly OddParents (working title)
Players assume the role of Timmy Turner as he attempts to save the town of Dimmsdale from the devious ex-monarchs of Fairy World. Timmy will receive assistance in his quest from Cosmo and Wanda. Scheduled for release on "multiple platforms" this fall.

Nicktoons (working title)
Adventure game starring playable characters from a number of different Nickelodeon franchises, including SpongeBob Squarepants, The Fairly OddParents, Team Rocket Power, Jimmy Neutron, and Tak. The game will also be the first to feature characters from new Nickelodeon properties Danny Phantom and Rugrats All Grown Up. Scheduled for release on the GBA this fall and on "other platforms" in 2005.

The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius: Attack of the Twonkies
Platform adventure game in which Jimmy returns from outer space with an alien stowaway onboard his ship. The alien is cute, at first, but quickly becomes dangerous. As a result, Jimmy must save the day by using a revolutionary invention system to create new gadgets. Scheduled for release on "multiple platforms" this fall.

"THQ continues to create interactive experiences that truly capture the heart of Nickelodeon's content," said Steve Youngwood, senior vice president, Nickelodeon Media Products Group. "We look forward to seeing the 2004 lineup develop and [look forward to] working as a team to deliver compelling games based on our top TV franchises and the upcoming SpongeBob feature film."
