To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the God of War franchise, Sony has announced an epic-looking Kratos figure. This one doesn't come cheap, as it's listed at $500 (after a $100 price knockdown, too), but for that premium price tag you get a piece of history. Only 500 are being produced and each comes individually numbered.

The God of War franchise debuted in 2005 on PlayStation 2. Numerous sequels and spinoffs have since been released, the most recent of which was this year's God of War 3 remastered for PlayStation 4.

"In continued celebration of 10 legendary years of God of War, we are proud to showcase the defining Kratos statue," reads a line from the item's official description. "Designed by the God of War team, standing over 26" tall, hand finished with leather, cloth, and metal pieces, detailed to the trim, this is a breathtaking statue for the ultimate God of War collector."

The Kratos statue will ship on December 4. They remain in stock as of November 25. Head to the PlayStation Gear website here to learn more and order yours today. You can also click through the images in the gallery below to get a closer look.

A new God of War game is in development, presumably for PS4. It won't be a prequel but could be a reboot, according to Sony Santa Monica creative director Cory Barlog. We may learn more about the game very soon, as Barlog is set to appear on a PlayStation Experience panel about storytelling in December.
