This Amazing Simpsons Search Engine Will Lead to Mass Productivity Drops

Simpsons fans now have a new way to enjoy the TV show. A new online tool called Frinkiac, named after Professor Frink, contains a database of three million screengrabs from the show's first fifteen seasons. You can search for whatever you want ("Purple monkey dishwasher," "Stupid sexy Flanders," "What a time to be alive," "Disco Stu," "Frank Grimes," etc.) and the search engine will spit out a still from the episode it was featured in.

You can then layer the full quote over the image or create your own caption, printed in the famous Simpsons font. Here's one example for what came up when I searched for "Metallica."

Frinkiac was released upon the world this week. Its creators, Sean Schulte, Paul Kehrer, and Allie Young, tell Wired that they came up with the idea a number of years back after getting frustrated with simple Google searches, but only launched into full production on the search engine around six months ago.

"We had the idea several years ago when we were quoting The Simpsons at each other all day long, and it was surprisingly difficult to find an image of the scenes we were quoting on Google," Schulte said.
