Bullfrog's Theme Park World takes on a new name to reflect the popularity of Maxis' Sim series.

Maxis and EA announced on Friday that Theme Park World for the PC and PlayStation will be known as Sim Theme Park in the US and Canada. Throughout the rest of the world, the title will still be known as Theme Park World. Other than the name change, UK-based Bullfrog will still develop the game.

"While Theme is one of the most recognized gaming brands in the world, it is much stronger in Europe and Asia than it is in North America," says Bullfrog general manager, Bruce McMillan. "Branding 'Theme Park World' as 'Sim Theme Park' in North America will tell customers exactly what kind of gaming experience the title is."

EA says that the official Sim Theme Park web site (www.simthemepark.com) should be up and running sometime next week.
