The Truth About Tomb Raider III

We talk to Eidos Interactive and dispel a number of TR3 rumors that just won't die.

Comments

GameSpot News recently spoke with Mike Schmitt, associate producer at Eidos Interactive, about Tomb Raider III. We learned that some information currently making rounds on the Web isn't entirely accurate. Schmitt told us that contrary to some reports, TR3's save system has not been finalized. "We'll hopefully be able to offer a choice between the two methods to the user," says Schmitt.

Also, attack patterns of enemies haven't been set yet. "We're experimenting with some new AI ideas," says Schmitt. "One of the tigers, for example, may be assigned as the leader of the pack... therefore, if you shoot him first, the others may bugger off into the level and try to regroup and attack later. This is just one new idea," he emphasizes.

Also, he reiterated that the first level is India, the last is Antarctica, and the three in between (London, Area 51, and the South Pacific) can be played in any order.
