The Suffering goes gold

Today, Midway announced that the Suffering has gone gold, and it is on track to ship on March 8. Available for the Xbox and PlayStation 2, the survival-themed shooter will retail for $49.99 and is rated "M" for Mature. The Suffering's "M" rating is well deserved. Developer Surreal Software infused every frame of the game, which takes place inside a haunted prison, with horrific atmospherics. Playing as a man convicted of murdering his family, gamers will have to gun down former death row denizens who have returned as ghouls, zombies, and various other forms of undead.
