The Ship, a first-person shooter that emphasizes sneaking and other mystery elements, has finished development and is ready for download exclusively from Valve Software's digital-distribution client, Steam. The Ship has already seen a history with Valve and Half-Life. It was originally a mod for the original Half-Life, and developer Outerlight licensed Valve's Source engine for the new version of The Ship. Although the game sports some of the same features found in all Source-based games--such as Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source--The Ship is a stand-alone game that does not require Half-Life 2 in order to play. The Ship had previously been offered for $14.95 as a preorder purchase, but with the game's release, the price is now $19.95.
