Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was recently removed from Steam, prompting all kinds of rumors and speculation. But the real reason the game is no longer available to buy is far less exciting.

Speaking to PCGamesN, a spokesperson for the company said this was "due to a technical issue." Ubisoft added: "Our teams are working on a solution to bring it back as soon as possible.".

The Black Flag page on Steam is still online, but the game cannot be purchased at this time. There is no word yet on when Black Flag might be available for purchase again.

Recently, rumors suggested that a remake of Black Flag was in the works. Given that Ubisoft removed Assassin's Creed III alongside the launch of Assassin's Creed III Remastered, people naturally wondered if something similar was happening here.

The next Assassin's Creed game is Assassin's Creed Mirage, which releases in October. After that, Assassin's Creed Nexus VR is coming by the end of 2023, and then there are multiple Assassin's Creed games coming in the future as part of Assassin's Creed Infinity. There is also a new Assassin's Creed game being made for Netflix.
