The OzSpot 01/05/12

Koz is in the hosting seat this week for a very teary good-bye. Plus, God of War multiplayer, Halo live-action series, and Mikami's new game!

Hello listeners!

In this week's episode, Koz takes to the hosting chair (metaphorically, not physically) for his final podcast in his last week at GameSpot AU.

We also ask Dan about God of War's new multiplayer, discuss the doomed Halo film and the upcoming live-action series, and delve into the mind of Shinji Mikami as we look at how far survival horror has come in gaming.

The SoundCloud file is below. Note: you can now download the podcast for later listening. RSS feed is also live!

The Twitch TV stream is below. The OzSpot begins at the 05:00 mark!

By the way, during this OzSpot, I do feel quite embarressed on what I text. One with Halo Wars Battle of the Sexes and Laura's hot body. It sounds stupid but I finally got recognized on Twitch TV by username anyway. Gamespot AU, can you guys just call me Johnny instead? It would be nice if you did. Thanks.

Hopefully we'll see Koz in The Late David Letterman Show. It would be cool anyway to see the Gamespot AU crew in that show. If it ever happens.

One question: Are we going to see more of Jess? I wonder how organized the Gamespot AU schedules fit in this week?

RE: Playstation All Stars Battle Royale. It looks completely derivative, and Sonys' characters are not as unified or cute as Nintendo's, not by a long shot, but given that Super Smash Brothers is massively popular, I can only hope that this game will be well put together. It's not massively interesting to me but it has its appeal. It looks like it's going to be a full release, but once it gets cheap on PSN it might well be worth a purchase. Sonic should be in it. Good luck with your new ventures, Koz.

I still don't know which game the standby music is coming from. Hopefully someone can answer this riddle.

I've been playing Batman Arkham City. Loved it. I can see why it's regarded as one of the best games this generation. I think i'm going to sell it and buy the Game of the Year version once that goes budget. I also finished Shadows of the Damned which I also enjoyed alot - I loved the themes and the general style of the game, although the shooting controls were pretty annoying. And now i've moved on to Silent Hill Homecoming which i'm actually really enjoying, although I was expecting it to be pretty bad. I'm finding it very atmospheric, and generally has good controls. It reminds me of L.A. Noire and Siren Blood Curse. The enemies are pretty weak though so it might become boring fairly soon, i'm only a couple of hours in so far.
