If you were one of the poor souls who trekked to malls and stores nationwide over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, you may have noticed Lara Croft's face looking down from store shelves at potential gamers. Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation for the PC and PlayStation brings gamers back into Lara's world as she churns up new adventures in the Land of the Pharaohs with a story based on ancient mythology and the alignment of the stars at the end of the millennium.

New features in the game include enhanced AI, a redesigned inventory system, and a simplified interface. Lara's arsenal has grown as well, with concussion grenades, a laser-sight equipped revolve, a crossbow with three arrow types, and a new sniper mode for more accurate kills.

"We feel with this new chapter in the Lara Croft saga that we've captured the essence of action-adventure gaming that enchanted gamers with the original," said Adrian Smith of Core Design, the Eidos-owned development house behind the Lara series.

Gamers with a taste for Lara's history will find an introduction about Lara's first experiences as a tomb raider at the young age of 16. Gamers can also find a special millennium edition of the game, which features a collectable-card game and a Tomb Raider comic book.
