I see a lot of The Last of Us award article in Gamespot but not Grand Theft Auto 5 awards. And as for Gon Home I saw that fast play version of the game and that game had really not that much to offer. Surprise it score was so high.

TLOU has got this in the bag. Suprised Bioshock Infinite's not in the list. Evenhough i didnt love the combat, the story and ambiance was superb.

Voice acting was superb too, Troy Baker was fantastic as Booker, that is one talented guy.

Tomb Raider gets a GOTY nomination but Bioshock Infinite doesn't . Yatzhee's hatred for the majority of game devs just went up a notch. BS Infinite was his GOTY by the way.

Gone Home? They're on acid trip or something?

The Walking Dead season 1 was overrated last year and now Gone Home is overrated this year.

GTA V was a joke, they ruined signature single player by wasting time on multy player, some games are just supposed to be single player

I like that The Stanley Parable has got so many nominations. I've only played the demo, but I liked that one very much and there are far too few games like that. It reminds me of the Malkavian mod for Deus Ex, although that mod featured no narrator.

Ni No Kuni should win GOTY.  The Last of Us would be my #2.

Just imagine Gone Home getting Game of the Year. That would be amazing day on gamespot .
Lot of comments from from GTA V and TLOU fanboys bashing the game and getting angry .

EDIT : TLOU is great game , just talking about fanboys .

TLOU is really perfect. Tomb raider is good, but definitely not GOTY level (the story and characters are soo chiched). Gone home is also a GOTY level

Grand Theft Auto V and Tomb Raider for best design? Over games like Antichamber, Gunpoint, 868-HACK, Papers Please!, and The Swapper?

Didn't actual game designers come up with these nominees?

At least the GDCs are a dignified and classy event which honors the industry unlike that dog pile/monkey feces known as the VGAs/VGX.  Put down the Doritos and Mountain Dew and take notice, Geoff Keighley.

The Last of Us was such a powerful experience. Joel and Ellie felt more human to me than many people I've seen IRL.

Glad to see Tomb Raider in the GOTY year category. I doubt it will win, but I'm happy to see it nominated.

What about COD? It had the best visuals and techmology.

Gone Home? What a hipster choice, this is the worst game ever made.

PS: There is no such a thing as "Best Indie" category, they are all shit.

@Cloud_imperium With Journey winning last year, it would seem like Gone Home has a solid chance to win goty. I'd vote for TLoU, though, but anyone of those nominated has a large chance of winning. GTA V got lots of praise and the love for Nintendo's games is perhaps even bigger than game devs' love for indie games that "real" gamers don't even see as games :P.

@pozium I really don't get the hype over Gone Home. I played it and I can honestly say that i wouldn't even consider it a GOTY candidate from what i've played. It's good but no where near amazing.

@rIVAL_sWORD84 Killzone needs to take a dirt nap. I've got Killzone SF and I played it for one day now it just sits there.

@hippiesantaOnly pretentious people like that game, which is why game developers nominated it. They simply can't get enough of such not-a-game games/ sarcasm.

@Heshertonfist play it when it's on sale for 80% off and it'll be worth it if you like adventure games without puzzles.

Tomb Raider is another terrible game, a wimpy like that woman killing a lot of men in the middle of the jungle, it was like watching a new Rambo with Kate Perry, ridiculous.

The compasion is really simple:

Battlefield 4 - a lot of maps, guns, vehicles, multiplayer mode, great narrative.

Gone Home - one map (a boring house), no guns and vehicles (seriously, who had this idea for a FPS without guns, these indies are freaks), no multiplayer and with a boring narrative about a girl meddling what is not yours.

Gone Home is terrible in every way.
