The King of Fighters 2000 heads to the Dreamcast

Playmore is bringing SNK's 2D fighting game to the DC.

NeoGeo publisher Playmore Corporation has announced that it plans to port The King of Fighters 2000 to the Dreamcast. The King of Fighters 2000 was one of the last games that now-defunct publisher SNK produced for its NeoGeo arcade hardware, but Playmore will port the game to the Dreamcast in Japan. In addition to the original game's cast, the port will include the "another striker" system, which lets players choose an additional character as an offscreen striker. Some of the offscreen strikers include obscure characters from other SNK games, like Metal Slug and Savage Reign. The King of Fighters 2000 for the DC will also have additional background stages in the practice mode and competitive play, including backgrounds from previous King of Fighters games, such as the elevator background from The King of fighters '95 and the wrecked dojo from The King of Fighters '98.

We'll have more information on The King of Fighters 2000 for the DC as it becomes available.
