Want entrance into the Dark Brotherhood? Curious about werewolves? Want to see adults play Skyrim for countless hours? Check out all of this and more inside!

Skyrim is only one week old, but we've been cranking out videos almost nonstop to aid you on your quests in a world filled with dragons, giants, assassins, and some nice people. It's possible that you haven't been able to keep up with all of the latest updates, so we've picked some of our favorite Skyrim videos from the past week to loop you into the action. Of course, if you own Skyrim, there's a good chance you don't even know what's been going on in the world for the past week or so; if that's the case, we politely direct you toward other parts of the Internet. Enjoy!

@thenephariouson yes i noticed Deadric armour listed as a perk =) i have been purchasing huge amounts of various ore and leather to forge weapons and armour so i can level up and unlock it. bugs are only a small issue, but as long as you save regularly then this avoids frustration if you happen to come across one. ps. i would have replied earlier but have been too... 'busy' lol :D nah i only read your message today, i have just been playing on skyrim so much i haven't found the time for GS as often.

@GamerLegend10, Bethesda have a knack of producing totally immersive worlds that capture the imagination and just suck you in, i just cant stop playing Skyrim its everything i expected and with the 'minor' bugs aside it still manages to completely immerse me. Im currently looking to purchase a house and then aim to get married, whilst also aiming to join The Dark Brotherhood : ) Its simply a brilliant game. Oh, and i believe you are able to 'Forge' a full set of Deadric armour too : )

@thenephariouson Yeah the nightingale Armour is awesome, i haven't got much dragon scale armor yet though :( only the helmet. Nice to know other people are as addicted as me, last time i checked i think i was about 120 hours in and have barely touched the main story :) @swhite123 (Possible SPOILERS) Im not sure how you didn't notice, with me the screen flashes red every time i go out in the sunlight and it notified me when i caught it and at every progressive stage of the disease. I have been a vampire twice now lol, if you fight with a vampire sometimes they will infect you...if you deal with it straight away its best as you can simply use a shrine or a potion to cure yourself, but after several days the disease progresses and you become a vampire fully which is harder to deal with (head to Morthal).

Just clocked up over 100 Hours and still hav'nt even started the main story arc yet, just way to many things keeping my occupied, with a shopping list of 'Miscellaneous' quests a mile long and so much of the world still to discover its so easy to forget the main purpose of the game. Its all worth it though as ive almost completed a full set of Dragonscale armor, the Nightingale armor is also very cool : ) Simply brilliant!!

Totally awesome game.....The fun factor reached 5 stars caliber if you ask me. lot of devs are forgetting that video games need to embrace the fun factor as well...one of the best games I have play in years.

@BYBY666 Also the best way of enchanting is just using the weakest soul gems you have, because they all give you the same amount of experience. So put those iron daggers to good use lol.

BYBY666
BYBY666

The best way to upgrade smithing is to only build iron daggers (need 1 iron ingot and 1 leder stripes ) because everything you build gives you the same amounts of points for smihing. :)

My only problem with this game was that there was always something that would attack and kill my horse. God bless cheats !

Only problem I have had with the game is the difficulty. I have been playing on the highest difficulty and the enemies either one shot me or I one-shot them. There is no in between. Any lower difficulty and it is laughable.

great coverage of skyrim gamespot, i have enjoyed all the videos although, the commentary is a lot of the time is mediocre at best. lvl 34 dark elf. one handed, light armor, destruction, block. im also obsessed with smithing and enchanting my own weapons and armor. full glass armor set right now. this game is like crack. i see the outline of a dungeon on my radar and i have to go see what is inside, takes me forever to get from one location to the other. haha.

Lvl 21 Redguard, One handed Block and light armor. Just finished the Imperial Legion Missions. The land is now under imperial control. For The Empire.

i honestly havent found anything to complain about with Skyrim after 18 hours. its been a flawless experience. its simply exactly what theve promised and more. and the main quest is great!

@garysuper the game focuses on proving yourself to a certain higher up, recently the empire of cyrodil OR more of the blades (or the secret service.) this means that when you finish the game, you have redeemed yourself! :)

@Boy_Fett711 - You need to get a roll of paper and a charcoal, you will find those items in the tower near the tablet. Use the tablet once u have them and your character will automatically write it to the paper :)

@tooraretodie Im not even going to post how long i have played this game it would make me look obsessed, but its already many, many hours lol. Skyrim consumes my life at the moment. @Boy_Fett711 you should really warn people before posting spoilers...but if you are still stuck then send me a private message telling me exactly what the problem is, i may be able to help.

@Blayzino i've realized that in the moment i've found the flame Atronach in my magic bag. i don't remember how it got there, but it was very early in the game. i bet somewhere in that little village, Riverwood. and i thought it was great, so early to summon... oh, wait... flames, dragons, got it. Gone to Whiterun, warned the village idiot, went to fight the dragon... didn't even got the chance to use the flaming b***h. stumbled on the stairs in the tower, don't know what i wanted to do there, when i got back down the dragon was already on the ground, clubered the s**t out of him. awkward dragon slayer ever. until i've managed to even sense their aproach. in two words: awesome game

Blayzino
Blayzino

Tip for beating dragons easy - Flame Atronach. Resistant to fire plus long range, plus its AI, so auto aim too :P And because its fire it helps against the ice dragons aswel. Just thought I'd share incase anyones having trouble out there :)

Dark Souls nailed combat in general. A skill based RPG awesomeness!! However its the setting, environments, exploration, loot finding, character progession and skilled combat that makes Dark Souls what it is.. But there is no story really... Skyrim has all of those things except skilled combat but it has lots of story to it. So if you could put Dark Souls Combat in Skyrim it would be the perfect game.

xsonicchaos

@PeterDuck ah, yes, if that's what you meant, then yes! also the magic atacks were better, and moving from place to place, like ropes and stuff like that.

@DrBlumpkin Come on now, I've played that "unplayable piece of garbage" on PS3 for like 15 hours so far and haven't had any significant problems, just a few weird minor glitches.

DrBlumpkin
DrBlumpkin

Did Gamespot even play the PS3 version? Why would you give a 9.0 to an unplayable piece of garbage? Oh that's right you have no journalistic integrity I forgot. How much $ did Bethesda give Cnet?

NeoEnigma
NeoEnigma

@PeterDuck Agreed. Skyrim's melee combat has absolutely no weight to it, and enemies don't really react to your hits. When I swing a sword at an enemy, I may as well be swining at air. Dark Messiah NAILED melee combat, and that's what made that an enjoyable game that I played from start to finish. Skyrim is an otherwise brilliant game... but the combat blows.

I love the music in this game so much along with everything else. It helps me unstress myself. :) So much fun I am going to go play it now :P

PeterDuck
PeterDuck

@xsonicchaos well I was only referring to the Dark Messiah's melee system which was so much better than Skyrim. That game actually felt like you could wield a sword and have engaging and realistic sword fights.

The Elder Scrolls games are so big, I have never actually completed the main quest in any of the ones I've played. Its too much fun just walking randomly and seeing what you find. Not to mention the side quests.

xsonicchaos
xsonicchaos

@PeterDuck, i don't know, man, but Dark Messiah wasn't Bethesda's doing, it was Ubisoft, using the Source engine in all the bad way. Bethesda failed to learn from ALL Elder Scrolls and Fallout games they made, even with a "brand new" engine. As for the gameplay, Dar Messiah was a slight mess, not a total one, although it had a good premise and nice environments. Skyrim simply cannot be compared to that, it's a great game, with a great fan base, wonderful story/stories, beatyful graphics, and a lot of bugs that will get shoved under the rug with some patches, bugs that we kinda got used to from previous Bethesda games. As for the werewolf i'm still trying to avoid that part in the game and leave it for last, if i can. That means I haven't finished the game yet.

@Skullsector lol Yea and having to play the "What do I NEED?" game for an hour.

I love when console owners don't know what they're talking about... humble and polite as they are.

PeterDuck

This game has horrible hit detection and unrealistic damage. That bit with the werewolf is so awkward. Why didn't they learn a single thing from The Dark Messiah?

@Evo8u @elbuenrulo Well he has a laptop, so he can just sit anywhere and play. However can just plug PC/laptop into TV using hdmi, playing console fuzzy/blurry resolution on 61 inches :S M/K issue was with inventory, fixed with patch on day one. Can play with a wireless M/K on the couch too, I do, but you can plug in a gamepad if you must. Get that nice shiny 1080p ultra g/mode look. Either way though :)

Evo8u
Evo8u

@ elbuenrulo I prefer to play on my 61in with my home theater set up on a comfy recliner than at a desk with a mouse and key board and a smaller screen, so I say 360. However, graphics on a hardcore PC r going to be better, but I heard on a few of the reviews the controls r better suited to a control pad. My opinion.

It must be a GOTY! and TES must be a best series of western RPGs

@garysuperman maybe being a prisoner is good for Bethesda, i think i will steal something now...

In my opinion Skyrim is 2011 GAME OF THE YEAR no questions asked. I already logged like 30+ hrs haven't touch main quest yet. I can't stop other than for school and work. Luckily my wife is also a gamer and is addicted to MW3 and Saints Row the third.

Does anyone notice that at the start of every Elder scrolls game, your always a prisoner?
