THQ today announced a multiyear deal with Lucasfilm to develop and distribute Star Wars-themed content for mobile phones. The deal grants THQ the rights to use licensed products from Lucasfilm's juggernaut movie series, ranging from the 1977 film Star Wars to the upcoming Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

"Our primary focus is to create a quality Star Wars experience for a fan base that is unlike any other," said Tim Walsh, president of THQ Wireless.

THQ is planning on releasing a wide variety of Star Wars merchandise, including mobile games, screensavers and wallpapers, ringtones, and video clips.
