The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition confirmed

New version of Skyrim includes all the game's DLC for $59.99/£39.99.

by

Bethesda has formally unveiled the previously-rumoured Legendary Edition of openworld RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

The Skyrim Legendary Edition will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on June 7 in North America and June 9 in Europe and Australia. This version of Skyrim collates the game's three DLC expansions--Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn--and comes with the 1.9 patch pre-installed.

Last month's 1.9 patch added a Legendary difficult mode, and the ability to continue levelling your character indefinitely.

The Legendary Edition has a suggested retail price of $59.99/£39.99.

Bethesda has previously said that the Skyrim development team have now officially moved on to their next project.

They should have made a DLC for each of the Imperial provinces where the Dragonborn United the Empire under his rule like Tiber Septim. The next game could have been the Second Great War and the story could have been affected by the decisions made in Skyrim, like who's side you took in the civil war. I bought the game on PS3 and after all the BS ending it this way seems kinda like a slap in the face. Hopefully the next game will come out for the current gen and next gen systems but i doubt it.

FINALLY! This is exactly what i was waiting for!! I'm tired of always having to buy stuff related to the same game such as new DLCs and the net cost also greatly exceeds the collector's edition. I would rather wait for the ultimate/legendary edition, save some $$ and then play through it all knowing that i own everything that the game has to offer. As soon as it's out, i'm buying it! Great news indeed!!

Perfect. It's become more preferable for me to get more "complete editions" of games these days.

Do I need XBOX Live to play the DLCs if I get the Legendary Edition?

This is what I've been waiting for!

However, I already have Skyrim (for PS3). Too bad that when I buy this edition, I'll have to make a new character.... (unless I can somehow play this with the characters I've made or the basic edition of Skyrim (the edition with no DLC's)).

Just when I think I'm going to catch up on my other games...

And here we have why I waited on this game. I refuse to pay for DLC, so I wait and get it all for dirt cheap.

Is Dragonborn and Dawnguard available on retail? I don't have Xbox Live and I'd rather not cough up $60 for this.

So to buy the the 2 dlc i want (Dawnguard and Dragonborn) i will need 38.4 euro(that is about 49.99$).So why not decrease the price of those DLC  since you have a new edition coming up  that will have them + the game +heathfire.Support those who bought the game when it first came out.Btw i have Skyrim on Xbox 360

After my 200 hour Skyrim save corrupted my PS3's hard drive, I sold my copy on eBay.

I'm going to buy this again purely because of the box art.

The box looks nice. I have got Skyrim on PC for around 9.99. I will pass on the DLC where you need to build your house. Dragorn Born and Dawnguard are for 6.99 each from Gamefly. 9.99+6.99+6.99 = 23.97 which is 16.09 cheaper from the suggested retail price. I liked the box but its not worth the admission price.

Isn't it cheaper to buy the game & DLC separately? Also, is there going to be another release when Skyrim gets out of beta?

What a nice "F You" to the PS3 fans waiting for the DLC. They were better off just waiting for this to come out than deal with a buggy mess. Still glad to finally hear that owners of different systems will be able to enjoy the same thing at the same time.

I like to buy game packages like this one.  This is what any game should be like, a "complete" package at it full retail price, not an incomplete one at the full retail price and paying extra for the complete product!

Is the DLC going to be on disc or a voucher?

@KamikazeDonut  No if you buy retail all you will get is a code. but you can always get the free sliver of xbox live.

@KamikazeDonut

The total amount for the DLC's (without any sales) is $50, so this version is quite a good deal overall and it has the 1.9 patch you need for all the DLC to work, added features (like horse combat), legendary difficulty and skills (removes level cap), and all the stability and quest fixes that make the game run and look great now. Since you waited this long you could even wait longer for a sale on that edition and get it for $40 after a few months or so.

If your PC can run Skyrim, I would suggest you get the Legendary Edition from Steam. Then you can use all the great mods people have made for this game from the free Steam Workshop and all the cool Nexus mods, The Nexus mods can post the more Adult things that can't be posted in the Steam Workshop, and are also 100% free to DL. You will even be able to DL the free Creation Kit to make your own mods if you feel so inclined, but don't worry, there are over 15,000 mods just in the Steam Workshop alone.

@KamikazeDonut even if they were retail, you wouldn't get all the patches and added features.

MinerAvatar

@bdous Xbox Live has sales of the DLC all the time, just a few weeks ago in fact the Dragonborn DLC was on sale for 800 points. A few weeks before that Dawngaurd was 800 points and I believe that Hearthfire has been reduced to 400 points as a new everyday price. So you could have had all the DLC for $25 American already. Just keep an eye on the deals of the week or special holiday sales and you will be able to get all the DLC on the cheap, it has been on sales at least three times just from December to now on Xbox Live, and I am sure it will be again at some point, I bet around the time of this editions release.

@FallenOneX Still console players won't get mods. Just stating a fact.

Warlord_Irochi
Warlord_Irochi

@FallenOneX They did the same with Fallout 3. Wonder if PS3 users are 2nd degree costumers for Bethesda...

Funeral_Fan

@CodyBronson1 The Oblivion GOTY edition came with an extra disk that contained the DLC. So you still had to install it but didn't need an internet connection. I bet that this will be exactly the same.

the_hunger
the_hunger

A good question.  It really needs to be on the disk for me to pay full price for it.  Otherwise, I'll wait for the discount.

bdous
bdous

@MinerAvatar @bdous I know that they were on sale (50 % off) so Dawnguard/Dragonborn=800 MS and Heathfire=200 MS (I bought Heathfire). But i couldn't afford the other 2 at the time .I was just saying that since a Legendary edition(that includes all DLC) is coming why not permantly decrease the price of DLC

FallenOneX
FallenOneX

@Mamamf True, but I never had mods to begin with, can't miss what you never had. And with the way the big three have been courting indie developlers, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before some small group strikes a deal with a developer for a console mod. Out of all the companies out there, I think Valve will be the first one to try it.

FallenOneX
FallenOneX

@Warlord_Irochi I honestly believe it was the hardware that gave them problems, for whatever reason. The PS4 should supposedly change that.
