Mythos Games, the developer of Magic & Mayhem and the turn-based strategy classic X-Com, is currently developing The Dreamland Chronicles: Freedom Ridge. The game takes place in the not-too-distant future in the wake of a devastating alien invasion. Only a few human survivors are left alive on planet Earth, and it's up to you to organize them into an effective squad and expel the aliens.

In Freedom Ridge, the paranoid urban legends associated with UFO conspiracies and government cover-ups have come true: An alien army has landed on Earth, armed with sophisticated weapons light-years ahead of Earth's own defense technology. The defense forces of Earth fought valiantly for exactly 70 days, but they were eventually routed and mostly destroyed. Only a few members of the resistance remain; and if these soldiers are to stand any chance against the alien antagonists, they must band together and use everything they have and everything they can get their hands on, including salvaged fighter jets, military ordnance, and even alien technology. Once they've equipped themselves as best they can, your troops will engage in turn-based, squad-level tactical combat against alien squadrons at various installations all across the globe.

Throughout the course of the game, you'll not only research and develop new weaponry for your squad, you'll also learn more about the game's intricate storyline. What really did happen at Area 51? Who are the Men in Black? What were the real purposes behind alien abductions? You'll get the answers to all these questions at the end of this year, when Freedom Ridge is scheduled for release.
